Title: help - problem viewing this video file
Post by: Stealth on April 21, 2004, 05:47:52 pm
so this highly illegal movie i just downloaded of Kazaa... or whatever....

when i look at the "Windows File Information", i get:

Quote
File Type: Movie File

File Extension: .avi

Description: This contains a movie.

Software or information available at:
IrfanView32

now i'm familiar with Irfanview, but i tried getting it to open the file, even with the newest plugins, and it still won't work.

any suggestions?

http://acemcp.uw.hu/

Download the latest codec pack from there, that may work if your not quite up to date. Other than that I suggest you download some other porn instead.

;)

It might be an ep of Gundam SEED or something.  It's not neccesarily pr0n.

Hmmm, I guess it's too late to warn you never to install any codecs packs now =/

In any case, is it an avi?  If it is, try installing ffdshow (http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/codecs_and_filters/ffdshow.cfm)  from this link.

Use G-spot (http://www.headbands.com/gspot/) and figure out which codec you actually need before installing a mess of codecs on your computer that will fight with each other and prevent you from seeing anything.

You haven't thrown yourself into an active volcano yet either. As with many things, there's probably a good reason for this.

Think of it this way ZB. After having seen the movie he'll know that everything else he ever watches will be better. That has to be worth something :D
