I have no words for the irony.
Can I get an 'Amen' (or at least a free song)? (http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/nationworld/2001907587_steal20.html)

Someones downloading Lord
Kumbaya

The findings were a jolt to many in the evangelical music industry, who expected churchgoing teens to be mindful of the commandment that states, "Thou shalt not steal."
Thats pretty ****ing funny.. I'd really like to know what the music industries think they're doing. Making an honest living perhaps?
-
It's kind of like stealing dog *poopie*.
-
That can be said about any kind of music, KT. Whether you like the music or not is irrelevant. The only important thing here is the irony of the fans of "Christian" music "stealing" it (though I might debate the use of the word 'steal' here. "obtain without proper license" perhaps, but that's not the same as "stealing").

.......
It's like a .. garbage man stealing dog poopie.

But not everybody thinks the pirating is a bad thing. After all, some church leaders say, isn't getting the Gospel out more important than getting paid? How can it be wrong if it saves souls?
"That's convoluted logic," said Barry Landis, president of Word Records, a major Christian label. "You would never steal Bibles to give them away. You shouldn't steal Christian music to give away either."

I thought they gave Bibles out free but had a voluntary donation thing of like $5 to help cover the printing costs?
And if they're hocking that Christian Rock crap as gospel, then selling it is probably about the most sinful thing they could do.
Infact, using God to hock crappy merchandise was the only thing that ever got Jesus annoyed at anyone.

maybe they all realize that downloading music off the internet is stealing as much as doing a reproduction of the mona lisa is stealing from Da Vinci.

Whatever happened to charity? Oh - and is not a bad thing to be making mon ey off of God? I mean, if they simply want to spread their faith, surely they'd be happy that someone listening? Unless - - they're actually interested in a cheap buck from gullible peeps?
-
Isn't this like... "spreading the word of god"? :D
And they say money is irrelevant. :D

Who wants to start a fundamentalist Jainist band and then promote people pirating the music to claim a higher moral ground then everybody else? :)

I'd rather just firebomb the RIAA.
Fire pretty.

Leave it to me to say that not all that music is gospel and stuff, there's Christian Rock which I like alot.
But people are people no matter what you believe

I hope you get banned for that comment...
Popular is only an illusion, as for many other things
