Well? What fits you the closest? What type of government would you want to live under?
Note: Libertarian includes laizze-fair economics.
-
Libertarian, but only because you didn't put an option for "Lawful Neutral with Liberal, Socialist, Libertarian, Conservative and Authoritarian tendencies".
-
Canadian...
In other words: Nothing specific....

Well, that's the whole idea. ;)
If you had to boil it down...
-
I can't really boil it down. I'm mostly Centrist, unless I'm arguing with someone, and then I'm whatever I need to be for the sake of argument. ;)
-
that sounds libertarian to me
-
Socialist with a dash of Anarchist and some (few) Conservative tendencies. Though I hope people are mature enough not to throw a tantrum and the mention of the word socialist. Basically, I support capitalism with restriction; to get the most out of what is inherently a flawed system.
edit: these days, everyone says they're a Libertarian. The guys who are too left for the Democrats flock under the same flag as those who are too right for the Republicans. Anyone who disagrees with the major party policies but still wants to consider themselves a good, productive part of the warm fuzzy system. Closet disillusionists (I doubt thats a word.)
-
Wanker. But that's my own definition.
-
most people I've seen call them selves libertarian are ether centrist and consiter the current political system nothing but extreemists or people who simply ****ing hate both parties.
if you're to left for the democrats you are not going to get along with someone who is to right for the republicans, though the two of you will both likely have a very similar atitude (Authoritarian), wich is the opposite of libertarianism.
-
Hooray for Socialism. :)
-
I'm thinking that maybe the reason that a large number of people want to sit in the middle is not becuase that is truly where they want to be, but becuase they consider that picking the middle-ground is the most sophisticated or intelligent thing to do. The middle in only the middle becuase of where the two parties are (in the US I mean). Thats the principle we're all taught in pre-school. When two people fight, neither is right. They're both wrong just for fighting, and the actual circumstances are irrelevant.
Either that, or a very large number of people have become enlightened over night, and have transcended partisan politics in pursuit of.....something greater? Wiser?
But then again, I could be wrong. Maybe the way forward is to pick a spot squarly in the middle of whatever situtation you happen to be placed in. For me, if you're not anything, you're nothing.
__________
I would consider myself a Lefty, and yet I agree (on matters of foreign policy) more with the ultra-right (isolationists) than with the the Republican mainstream ala ****. This is mostly due to the fact that they arrive at the same result, and not becuase they get there by the same path.
-
Chaotic neutral :p
-
Or maybe, just maybe, the middle ground makes a ****load more sense than the idiotic positions at the extremes.
Some of us actually believes there's a middle way between the insane rantings of you ideologues.
-
What precisely would "the government should let people be for the most part" fall under?
-
That's baseline libertarianism, GW. Maybe a touch of conservativism (if you remember that the Right used to believe in small government).

None of those options

I'm Vipocratic.
Vipocracy: Where all laws are created by the one who believes in his own sense of order, yet does not impose it upon anyone else unless he wishes. All women are fair game, be they within the the 4 year +/- of the one's own age. Alcoholic beverage consumption must be taken weekly, with a minimum of one beer or cider. Not giving a **** about anything in general is encouraged, yet freeloading off the current controlling government is discouraged. The one must work and earn his money properly or in anyway the one sees fit, as long as it does not or minimally imposes on other peoples livelyhoods.
Yep. If your wondering about why its called that, theres a REALLY long story behind it. :D
-
I guess I'm somewhat of a Libertarian - I don't like government intervention in social problems, and I'd like the government to stay out of the economy for the most part, except in cases like the FDA and other protect-the-consumer agencies. I also think the government should keep with public services, like school, and even put more money into them - especially education. Some welfare programs should continue as well. Also, I think that certain 'vices' like recreational drugs and prostitution should be legalized and heavily taxed.
In foreign policy, I'm mostly careful. I don't believe in attacking other countries pre-emtively, for instance. But I'm definitely willing to defend the country if we are attacked - so long as we know who attacked us.
-
I demand a "pessimist" option be added.

The one with free and equal rights etc for everyone. That's me and a bit of Communism, well the everyone is equal bit.
-
I'm a registered Independant. ;)
I vote for whoever is best for the job, and not by who's party they are on.
-
That's not what the poll is asking. Its asking your political beliefs, not your party affiliations. Obviously the person who "does the best job" will be, for you, the one that acts in accordance with your political beliefs.
-
Fine. Be technical. :p
I don't think I can click one of them. I like a little bit of each. But most of all, I hate politics. :p
-
I like politics. I hate ideologues.
-
you should hate theologues
-
I hate words that end in 'logue.' :doubt:
Honestly dont know what i fall under. what would be "I dont care who the **** you are, if you **** with me ill kick your ***?
-
theologues are a subset of ideologues.

Then you should realise that capitalist and libertarian are one and the same.
-
Beowulf is... mistaken.
It is difficult to equate capitalist and libertarian. They inherit from the same base class, to be sure, but to be properly, completely libertarian, you have to be willing to take a market loss on the basis of your own principals. A capitalist would sell his principals to avoid a market loss. ;)

I do wonder what free for all chaos on a world wide scale (in the billions) would be like, say in japan. Or hundreds of millions in the USA. Would be interesting to say the least, should spice up your day running gauntlets to raid some food from an abandoned store or supermarket.

We'd just sit back and get high while the rest of the world kills themselves. As soon as everyone is dead we Dutchies claim our rightfull place as rulers. :drevil:
