Title: Antares's Mod Index
Post by: Antares on April 30, 2004, 04:07:39 pm
Okay kids.  Let's try this again.

Since my last thread listing the various SCP-enabled modifications degenerated into a pathetic spamfest, I've decided to give it another shot.

I'm tinkering with the format to list both the thread where the mod is located, and a link to the download itself, provided one is available.  I'll update the thread regularly as modders churn out new stuff.

New SCP builds (with the exception of the environment build) won't yet be posted here, because that's what the SCP Builds forum (http://dynamic4.gamespy.com/~freespace/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=97) is for.

Any older material that's still nifty but is already included in the latest Media VP won't be listed here.

And so:

The HTL Fenris, final version?: thread here (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,22178.0.html), file here (http://www.sectorfiles.com/ti-file-dump/VasudanAdmiral/HTL-Fenris-final.zip).

Huh, that's odd.  The way some stuff is linked to on jdtcagle's swooh space is apparently preventing it from showing up properly as a hyperlink.

Not that this is a bad idea Antares but I'd be happier to see it on the wiki :)

Any word on the Hi-poly Fenris' texture merging?  Wasn't Raptor working on that?

Well, I said I was considering it, Nico also said he was going to, but then decided not too...

I'll have a look at it today.  Been busy with other games/work/RLtm/universe-being-nasty-to-me.:hopping:

please, please, please, i beg you on my knees, use the wiki for this. It is easier to edit by multiple users, it is more in the face of newbies, and it should be the full SCP manual.

To log in to the wiki, us a WikiWord as username (a word containing at least 2 caps, neither at the end, for example KasPerl, or AntAres or AnTares, or AntaRes, or SirAntares). Choose a password, you can leave this empty, but by choosing a pass you prevent people from using your username.  Make links by pasting the URL, make image links by posting a URL with a gif, png or jpg extension. ( I wish I could say feel free to pm me for more info, but I'll be out 2-9 may, so you'll have to find the rest out yourself or wait. This should be enough info though).

made by Nico / Venom (AFAIK/IIRC)

In a thread about atmospheric backgrounds, AFAIK/IIRC.

No. That was a Valk that Nico made. The perseus was a better-rounded mesh that Bob put up with the first HTL builds.

That's right... Now I remember.

I'm interessed on both models. Do you know where I can get them from ?

To Turambar: If you have a version of your thrusters that you're happy with, post a link or something.

I've been working for Inferno recently, but I'll make some changes and send a thruster .zip to whoever will host it

Added Lightspeed's latest sun pack, Raa's new subspace model, and the Anuket model.  Removed the link to the old "subspace" thread, as it was HUGE.

I'll look into getting some of this stuff Wiki'd later, but I have laundry to do today, so :p

If you're gonna do that, you might wanna check to make sure you have the right version of the HTL Fenris.  I just changed the link to the one indicated by Vasudan Admiral. :D  Not including the textures for the moment, since they're in both this thread and the source thread already.

Went ahead and added Carl's subspace maps, although Raa might be doing something with them soon, so their respective entries might be conglomerated.

Best get ready to add an alternate link (or change it again) as I've almost got a release ready.

Will contain the HTL Fenris with MERGED maps! Plus varients!:D

Both those files are hosted on swooh, which probably explains it.  Someone can try to mirror them elsewhere or--failing that--you can try again later, or pop for a download manager to piece them together.

Alright, quick question here. A few days ago, I had the urge to replay FS2, since I'm limited to only "older" (I mean that as in vintage, think fine wine...honestly) games, and I wanted to play it with all the new stuff.

Primarily, this is shine-mapping and Lightspeed's spec maps, but also high-res planets and the new (Bob's original new, not one of the new new versions) thrusters. After a few hours on the forums, installing stuff, getting rid of old stuff, I'm back to square one.

Can someone please explain in simple, single sylablle words, how I can get shine-mapping enabled with the above stated goodies. There are a half dozen diiferent builds online, and as many on my harddrive. If I can't figure it out, I'm wondering how a newbie could.

no, don't say what I think you're going to say, no one likes a smartass

I should update my improvement pack. The most stuff that is in it, is already redone and I've new stuff to add.

But I think there are some more improvements that need to be done before.

A new release may take some time.

Psh.  I take a couple of weeks off to enjoy my vacation and you people push my thread right off the front page. :p

Added the link to the perhaps-maybe-possibly final version of the HTL Fenris.  Added links to Deepblue's (?) new debris, DaBrain's high-rez fighters, and Lightspeed's revised shinemaps.  Also added a direct link to Lightspeed's subspace effect.

On a side note, I'm home for the summer now, and using my new A-1 SUPAR computer.  I'm now ready for you SCP-types to release 3.6. :D

Changed the link to Lightspeed's newest shinemaps to the thread with his release of the fighter/bomber maps.  Added a new link to the thread with the capship maps.  Linked to Bobboau's decal stuff, and Lightspeed's "temporary" decals.  Linked to jdtcagle's new Orion and Collossus maps.

Also, I'm on a dialup connection for a few months, so I might not be so eager to check out screenie-heavy threads. :D
