5.2 should of course be 5.1, admin?
I've just bought a 5.1 system, what are games that show it off the most?
-
5.2 changed to 5.1 :)
And I think Far Cry supports pretty decent audio.. you can also bet that Half Life 2, Doom 3 and so on will...
As for me, I'm on a 4.1 system.
-
Tried Far Cry, didnt seem that good.
Call of Duty was much more noticable.
-
I'm on a RealTek AC'97 chip with a set of old Altec Lansing 2.1 speakers. I've had these speakers for something like 4 years, and they have developed a short in the male DIN plug. A lot of bass can vibrate the cord just right to cause the left speaker to cut off. Kind of depressing.
-
More of a 1.1 system then
-
Far Cry doesn't do sound propagation.
-
Doesn't BF1942 have ridiculously awesome sound capapbilities?
-
4.1 here.
-
4.1 and it sounds sweet in unreal. especially when i got angel of death going
-
2.1, Altec Lansing. :)
-
I do not know much about sound systems, but I believe I picked the right choice in the poll.
2 speakers.
-
yeah, same here
-
I use headphones, but my PC has the nVidia Soundstorm chipset, capable of Dolby 5.1 surround. Should my financial woes ever let up, I wouldn't mind wasting money on a 5.1 system.
-
Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 Digital, but only a 4.1 speaker set (which is still good enough for me). Logitech Z-560
-
Zalman 5.1 headphones.
-
Cambridge Soundworks 4.1... the old buggers still work, bought them when I bought Diablo II... had to re-wire the rear channels(they don't hold up to rolling furniture well), but otherwise they rock. haven't been able to blow them up, yet... and i've tried.
-
Stereo.

Let me guess...these? (http://www.digitalriver.com/dr/v2/ec_MAIN.Entry16?V1=584046&PN=1&SP=10023&xid=48205&V5=31031486&S1=&S2=&S3=&S4=&S5=&V2=&V3=&V4=&DSP=0&CUR=840&PGRP=0&CACHE_ID=0)
In addition to above speakers, I have an Audigy 2 (NX, I think...it's the little box) and a Realtek AC97. Both can do 5.1, though the Realtek I'd have to buy/make special adaptors for the connectors (It's a motherboard-builtin card).

"Just Headphones"
What's wrong with headphones?
-
A pair of 10 watt Altec Lansings here.
-
Ok, I'm hooked up to my Hifi, and my media speakers are hooked up to the surround sound output, the speaker wire runs through the loft and drop through the ceiling above the wall mounted speakers :)
Despite the odd setup, the sound Quality is very good, though one of the leads needs jiggling now and again, got to fix that :)
-
Wooden speakers, crafted in the year 675 by the Archangel Gabriel!
-
5 glorious channels, so when you're surrounded by shivans, it sounds like it.
-
I have four chanels, on a 5.1 unit, not one of your silly computer sound systems either, full blown 500 watt sony suround sound home entertainment center type thingy, with two home brewed woffer speaker systems on the primary chanel (to make up for the lack of subwoofer).

Alas, no, that set of speakers is much newer and nicer than mine. They're so old, they're not even on the Altec website anymore. :nervous: ;)
-
i have a Logitech X220 (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/AU/EN,CRID=2,CONTENTID=7155) speaker system
connected to a soundblaster audigy 2 ZS
-
5.1 JBL ESC333 simply cinema. (= subwoofer > 17"CRT) :p
Digital (coaxial) with my Nforce 2 Southbridge. (Dolby Digital 5.1 all the time) :D
Freespace should support 4 channel audio. But it doesn't.
-
My soundcard has two outputs. I have a set of 4.1 speakers set up, and a set of 2 speakers set up. So...in effect it is 6.1.
-
I've got stereo speakers w/ subwoofer on a decaying sound card.
Sad, huh?
