I have.  It's a very intense (and sometimes trying) read.  If you can get an edition that includes a concordance it makes it easier to adjust to the read.

I took that test awhile ago, sent to the Lustful.  Go figure.

The Inferno is not something you read for fun.  It's filled with very dark, disturbing imagery, and many of Hell's tortures will remain in your memory long after you've finished the story.  And unless you pick up an edition that has footnotes of one kind or another, you'll be completely lost; many of Dante's verses refer to personal matters and political enemies he had, things with no general religious significance.

If you're going for strange poetry, get Blake's Urizen.

IIRC the entire thing was inspired by an opium dream.
