Title: Why I was away for a week
Post by: kasperl on May 10, 2004, 02:17:36 pm
This is a lot of reading, and it isn't even all of what I meant to write, and what I meant to write isn't all of what I remember, and there are some things I am afraid I will be remembered of later but I repressed for now. FYI, I went to some kind of spring camp.

Ok, report from a week of fun:

This camp is meant for people trying to work away missing pieces of classes, people nearly failing the year, stuff like that. It consists out of 15 students, from 13 to 18, and 5, well, teachers from 20 to 25 or so, all university students themselves. You live in a camphouse in the middle of nowhere, prepare the food yourself, do the dishes, clean the toilets, etc. One large sleeping room for all, except for those under 16, they get a little room for themselves.
I went there because I missed 10 weeks of school, and my French, German and Latin were all terrible. I also went this christmas, and then we had fun, but everyone was reasonably serious. This time there where 3 boys of like 13-15, 2 girls that age, me, and the rest girls >16. It was great fun. The management/teachers were completely nuts, but in a good way. The rice was purple, the milk green, the spagetti blue, and I think I remember pink butter. Yes, and 1/4 of the baked patotoes were black one night, but that wasn't so intentional. Anyway, I am not going to tell about the times when we worked (4 times 90 minutes a day) 'cause while those were fun, they are all even more of a blur then the rest.
The whole camp was a major eye opener. Suddenly, I went from being a miserable geek to someone who was worth talking to, laughing with, and even to pity when I slammed my teeth into a part of the bed. I had discussions about gay marriage ban, why **** might be re elected (God forbid), and why I should look on the bright side of things. One day, I think the second one, one of the older girls noticed that one guy from the teachers had a bit of a "wrong" walk and a really "friendly" smile. From then on, the entire week was filled with inuendo about 2 of the male teachers, and they completely filled the role. They did the funny walks, odd smiles, and on the last night (various acts and stuff) they borrowed eyeliner, some tops, and slippers from the female management and acted like the 2 worst fags I've ever seen. Pictures might become public sometime soon.
The music tastes suprised me very pleasently, I've only heard Ramstein 2 or 3 times, and perhaps Korn once. Aside from that, no rap, heavy metal or trance. Plenty of oldies like Bob Dylan, Bob Marley (No woman no Cry 4 times a day is quite annoying though) and some other stuff like Flogging Molly, Crandberries, UB40, and when I put up Counting Crows people didn't throw the disc out either, instead, it got put up a few times by someone else.
The food, well, yeah, the food. I already mentioned the someone odd colouring, but aside from that, it was quite edible. I suprised everyone with my hunger, but this time the management knew my apetite and bought a few breads extra. Some people couldn't cook the least, but with 3 students and one teacher to cooke each night, it wasn't too poisonous or charred.
We had one of the male teachers smear out a peanut butter sandwich into the face of one of the female management, and the following night, she poured a can of water out over his head. He grabbed a bucket of water, and 15 minutes later, everyone was soaked. I remember shoving some people into a shower, but only vaguely.
The beds where too short for me, but it wasn't terrible. The kids below 16 where supposed to go tho bed at 23:00, while we went upstairs at midnight. In practice, we went up at 24:00 to still hear those idiots up with pillow fights, playing with the lights, fighting, talking about how tab a fits into slot b, and how long tab a can be. Eventually, they did so rather silently, and we slepped(sp?) pretty well.
The rest, well, I geuss I'll write more when I remember things, but the whole thing is one big pink blur for me, and memory's will come. And people I met there, I was stupid enough to give the HLP URL. And by those people, pictures, pictures I'd rather not be remember of. Nothing worse then Stu's "dress as wrong as possible" thingy though, I think. :nervous:

an0n: I expected that answer, but some people might have noticed.

That, and it was a nice oppurtunity to write everything in order in an attempt to recall what happened.

So did you get some by the campfire?   C'mon, you and several girls sharing a room and nothing happening?!

No nookie = you're still a geek not worth talking to.

lol, I'm kidding kasperl  (or was I....?).  I better say that now before you guys hunt me down and lynch me.

hey, I am waay to lazy to track down people to kill them.

And no, nothing happened. Nothing involving me for sure, and as for as I know, nothing in general.

To be fair to the little reject, even I rarely got up to anything sexual on school trips. Infact, I can only remember one instance where I did.

I was usually too busy setting fire to the poor bastard they put in a my room. It was so funny. This one kid spent like 2 hours out in the hall, naked, at 2am-5am because me and my pal got bored, set fire to his clothes, threw them out the window and the moron was stupid enough to go outside to get them.

Kasperl, it's good to have you back. Sounds like you really went on quite an adventure. Bit sad to hear we won't be seeing any photos, though. ;)

TCO, read, I was the only guy of 16 or above, and there were only 5 girls 16 or above.

Not that it matters anything, I was too busy sleeping, studying and laughing my ass of anyway

Have you checked the post your picture thread as of late? Not the latest one, but the one before that.

Anyway, why bother? I had great fun talking and joking with everybody. No need to risk insulting someone by trying more.

That, and I was soo tired I had trouble standing after 22:00.

Yeah, don't slit your wrists or anything.  Unless you feel that will give you a better shot...

Dude, I have been running around like a Zombie for the last 10 weeks, I think I stopped taking jokes all to well after the second week.

BTW, what the **** is "Bonte Avond" in English?

'Party night' is the best I can think of.

Well, with party I think of lot's of people just having fun and dancing, and a Bonte Avond is hardly like that.  Just the little bits of theater and **** are enough to redefine the idea.

Seriously, theater!? Damn, I'm so glad my camping trips had nothing like that  'Bonte avond' meant disco, party, booze and flirting when we went on camp :D
