:eek2: woah... simply... woah...
congrats, you've put my photoshopping to shame.

As posted on WS, the background isn't all that, but the girl is absolutely fantastic, and the shading on the top, it's absolutely amazing.
-
Wow. Love it :)
-
A gah-gah! That's awesome!
-
that raver chick can pop an X on me anyday :D
The only thing I don't like is that the tattoo seems too much to her side where you don't normally see one. But that's just personal preference.
-
that's cuz it's not a tattoo. she's a raver- it's body paint.
and yeah, the background isn't all that. mainly i couldn't figure out what to do with it. i definitely wanted a rain scene but i wanted the focus to be on the dancer. i thought about putting a skyline in the background but dunno - still thinking about what to do there.
-
U could always look for pictures from Ultra Music Festival. It's a rave in downtown Miami. One one side and around you you have the downtown skyline and on the other you have the bay.

 WOW
Can lightning curve like that though?
-
No, but that's a drawing, who cares?
Looks leet, btw.
-
WOW :)

actually yes it can. the shape of the lightning was based on a photograph.
-
you gotta teach me how to do stuff like that...
-
lots of work, time and boredome - one brush stroke at a time ;)

you could try to make the rain go a bit more vertical, and see if you can do something better then noise and a directional blur. Try to bring out the invidual drops.

you do several layers at varying intensities, and opacities, you can also add the 'soft glow' look of rain hitting various surfaces..
also try for 'speedlines' softened, and slightly transparent for individual drops.

Great job, nice one indeed
-
New style = stylish. :)
-
there is already a soft clow on the character where the rain hits her. and i tried going for individual drops close to the "camera" but i can never make them look right.
second thought, i'm gonna keep the bg the way it is. it's supposed to just be a background and that's what it is. the focus was always meant to be the dancer and if i do too much with the bg, it starts to take away from that. so thanks for the great comments guys, but i think i'm gonna leave it the way it is.

Nice one:yes: put it on simplyphotoshop sure to get some good feedback.
