Hello,
i'm pretty sure I read something about that issue somewhere around
here a few days back, but I cannot find it anymore, not even with the search-engine..
Since I'm using TGA-Backgrounds FS2 makes a CTD when a
"end-mission" event get's activated.
Is there a solution out there ? (I'm using currently the "fs2_openT20040401.exe".
Thanks for the info.

It's a bug that's being worked out. That build had it but newer ones (anything in May) shouldn't. The problem is in code that fixes a pretty bad memory leak but it doesn't work correctly under Windows for some reason. Works fine with Linux and OSX but for Windows users don't seam to care much about that ;)
The leak was opened back up to fix the CTD but a proper fix is just waiting for some testing before going in CVS. For now just use a newer build.

well the mission does end doesn't it?

You can find further reference to this bug if you search for "CoMT".

Thanks for the Info. Guess I will download newer exe's, or wait for the
new release.
When I already have your guys attention... :)
I have a very weird problem when loading missions using the
tgajpg-tag (or jpgtga, nevermind). When the mission is loading,
I have a framerate of 15 or below, even when looking into black space. As soon as background comes into view, even only for 1mm, then
the FPS goes down in the cellar.
When I exit FS (necessary, just restart the mission is not working)
start the game and load the mission again, then my FPS goes
up to 100 (which is normal for me) and for about 50 when
capship-battles are on the screen.
It's not every time and not every mission, I haven't find out yet, when
this problems occurs. Has anyone else encountered such problems yet ?

you probly just have something running in the bacground if it was in the game it would be there all the time

not to mention that large scale cap ships battles require a lot of memory :doubt:

That's not the point. I have a 80% FPS drop when this
error occurs. No matter what is going on in the mission, and
I have even 40 FPS in uge battles (mission 3 i.e.),
and there are no other programms running in the back. When I
relaunch FS the problem is gone (for that mission). It starts again,
when I try the next one.
I really seems like the first load of a mission is screwed up.
