Any sugestion? howi it looks?
And question anyone know how to create a new speacies in tables ( i know that there is an option in FSO ). I need full suport for ships tables ( new color of ships in FRED )

Big bad hevy armed destroyer:D sieze over 3 km.

on a 3km scale, I presume there is, at least technician foot trafic through the "wing" areas... this makes me feel that the shape is very inefficient for a destroyer class since it would make traveling between section of the ship a very very lengthy trip
as a fighter however, it's a nicer shape, especially for an interceptor type fighter that need to move quickly in a generally straight direction but still maintain some manuverability

Looks nice, but also like it needs a main body of sorts going down the x-axis.

With the probes sticking out front, it was kinda reminiscent of the 3rdspace alien capital ships from Babylon 5... without the energy sphere.

looks sort of like an alien design I once thought up for a "final chapter of freespace" campain, was going to be a cousen race of the Shivans that we make an alience with only to find out that they were the bad guys all along (and the reason why the shivans tryed to wipe us out)
but I got better ideas, and moved on

Without the egdes on the wings, it could take part in Andromeda :)
Very cool design. (Even though I hate the series :) )
But I'd also say "add a cockpit, and make it a fighter".

It's a nice design, but would be a lot more alien as a fighter.
The key to making an alien race is the textures however. With the correct texture set and backstory, that could be made to look passably Terran or Vasudan, but with an unusual UVMap or a totally new set of tiles you could very well be onto a winner.

Much better than my attempts at alien ships, and a good mix of unique while remaining mechanical looking (I mean, that's how most sentient species would make their ships, right?
Now... Textures :D

Texstures..thats only easy to say. I think that i gona use change Vasudan and Shivan texsture or mayby someone had non use alien skins;7

Argh... don't do that! It'll be really obvious and noticable... What sort of look are you thinking about? Organic ala the Vasudans, dark and semi mechanical like the shivans or fully Mechanical like the terrans? All three can be made to look equally alien don;t forget - people around here always seem to assume that Alien=Organic looking.

Are those the crappy ancient textures? Well, whatever they are, :ick:
Good Model, bad textures.

I think they'd work for the tentacles(?), but not for almost the whole model.
This makes it look smal somehow.
Try a darker, more solid map (armor-like), for the wings(?).

UV it, you can do huge textures now, 2-3 2048 x 2048 textures would work well on that.....and one well textured UVd ship will always look better than a tiled one imho.

it also needs some colour variation, dominate blue is all good, but it needs spots of different colours, throw in some yellow or orange

But the idea of the textures is good methinks.

looks like something out of Bab5 with that texture, lol :)
the texture sertainly helps it to feel bigger, however, the shape still doesn't seem effecient for that class of ship
