Title: yesterday sucked...
Post by: jdjtcagle on May 18, 2004, 12:52:00 pm
yesterday, the day before Drivers ED. I was practicing driving with my dad screaming in my ear, making me nervous which caused me to almost run right into a semi!!  So he gets pissed and I'm grounded frommy computer :rolleyes:  like he can keep me away from it.  But, to make things worst, later that night, I jumped over the "GATE" because I was too lazy to open it:D  And tore two tendons in my leg!!!  Which, means cruches for a couple of weeks, no Drivers ED. and I have to work this Summer.  And on top of all that I failed Algebra and have to go to Summer School after drivers ed. :mad:
So how was your day??

Ouch! Yes, never learn to drive in your parents car with your parent teaching, you may as well buy a bus pass right there and then ;)

Sorry about the leg, but in all fairness, that is why gates have latches ;) hehehehe

Yes, I thought is was a kinda funny, earlier that day, I told my 10 year old brother that -- "when you think you can take me, then go for it."
and laughed...
Then after my leg -- "I'll take you up on that offer" :rolleyes:  Now I have to listen to that :p

I got along fine without doing homework.

It's when you stop doing coursework, stop attending class and turn up for exams with a hang-over that ****s things up.

Ah, my mis-spent youth.....

No, I do my written work...
But, It's the computer part of it that gets me
You see, SHe grades us upon 6 lessons a week and there are dozens of questions that make up a lesson and those questions are so boring and long that I get bored and when I'm about to go to sleep, I connect to the Internet and hang out here. Ya, I know. but, I just cannot pay attention t o something that doesn't interest me.:D

well good, I was hoping you weren't one of those people that just went to school and didn't do anything. We have a lot of mexican punks that do that. no pens. no books. just show up, walk from class to class, go home. ( and if I offended any Hispanics I apologize, but if I offended any wetbacks or riceboys, you deserve it )

I have a real trouble with doing homework, or that is I used to while I was still in school (between highschool and college now). Its just, how audacious are they to expect me to listen to their boring crap (math etc) for 6 hours, and then go HOME and expect me to do it there. There are certain subjects which I loved (history mostly, also English) and I really pay attention in class. But anything with maths (maths, physics etc), I am terrible at.

I am tempted to become a teacher just so I could be reform the crappy system and make education actually interesting.

If someone doesn't llike math, fine. They like somthing else, and not like I'm going to need Algebra in life anyway. Whereas, sociology and politics and literature, everyone should know those. I had too take 4 math courses during my highscool time, and only 2 history courses, and they weren't even complosory, they were electives.

Consider that you may never be really exceptional in math and that the system is failing you because you don't conform to their expectations.  Thats the problem around here, thats the problem with higher level high school math around here and thats why math course drop rates are something like 50% at my old high school.

I also realized that I'm not numerically gifted...thus at university I'm in the arts and that works for me (although there is still Communication statistics :D) but the mean square root of the triangles hypotenuse alpha whatever gobltygook isn't going to work for me :)

The rest is karma.  Be good to the world :D

Even though you're good to it, it's still controlled by the "MAN" :D

hmm.  I just finished up my math class, IB math methods part 2, which is for seniors.  I'm a junior.  On the other hand, my parents have this phrase that they yell at me like 30 times a day.  "you need to work on your extended essay"  which i hate because its only the rough draft thats due on june 1, not the final copy.  It basically has to be long enough and on one topic, but my parents are unable to understand that.  So i generally sit locked in my room with my 400mhz no-internet photoshop-incapable junk computer trying to do all of my other homework (which is hard without the internet) and yet trying at the same time to have some sort of progress on the screen.
*gasp*
the only times i post are in the morning in art class, right when i get home from school, when theres noone home and when i get back from jogging (which is now)

I have to go take a shower now

Yeah this senior, junior, freshman thing confuses the crap out of me...why can't you guys just use proper numbered grades like everyone else :)

~Do your homework.
~Open fences, that's why they have latches.
~Work hard, you'll need the money.
~Rebel against your Dad. He sounds like a real douche if he is grounding you for your lack of driving skill when it's his fault for putting you on the open road (!WITHOUT EVEN A PERMIT!) in the first place. If anything, he should be grounded.

That is all.

It takes five seconds to figure it out. Unless your school (after middleschool) isn't based in four year intervals..

Very, very easy. In high school:

Freshman = 9th grade
Sophomore = 10th grade
Junior = 11th grade
Senior = 12th grade

As for yesterday...well...it's four minutes to midnight so I'm not sure whether I'll talk about yesterday or today. Whatever. They're both the same...boring...eh.

Sometimes it really sucks living on a farm.  I had to take the truck(25' long long-wheelbase flatbed, it literally takes half a ****ing acre to turn the thing around.  It also happens to be the most useful thing on the farm) and go buy plow points(the part of the plow that actually does the plowing) and 55 gallons of diesel fuel and get that done and home before it rained.  Tomorrow, or this morning if you prefer, I get to replace the worn plow points with the new ones I got yesterday and spend the rest of the day on a tractor inhaling dust(there's always dust) and getting half a heatstroke because only a moron goes out without long sleeves and get sunburnt on a tractor.

I'm considering a BA myself having gone through my first semester (in journalism). I'm currently doing an Applied Geology/Environmental Biology Double degree, which, in theory, is exactly what I need to become a palaeontologist. So I study hard in stuff that I'm not all that into (Maths, Chem, Physics) in 11 and 12, assuming I'll get to Uni and it'll all be relevant. I get here and what do they do - Chem 127 and Maths 135 - both chocca block full of the stuff I was doing in year 11 and 12....:rolleyes:. It's not even geochemistry or whatever. Crazy.

I was at work yester day, untill 12:30 AM, I arived there at 11:30 AM, keep in mind that AM switches to PM between 11:59 and 12:00, and back again 12 hours later.

oh, and I had an exam today, so couldn't study :D.

I remember when I was learning to drive with my dad, this one time he starts soking me about, and I just slam the brakes on and I start screaming at him "DO NOT HIT ME WHEN I AM DRIVEING!!". he drove the rest of the way. ah the memorys, I hate that ****ing bastard :).

Not too bad a day today. Slept all morning (which was great :D), did 3 hours of electronics work, came home. Sitting here now. Guitar lesson at 8.30 (cool Satriani thing), then sit about some more.

Only bad thing is that my legs are well and truly shagged. I did far too many kicks in training on Monday (probably about 400), and I've knackered the muscles on the back of my legs. But it does mean I can sit around, so it's not all bad....

Well, today was better, except for the fact my foot looks like it got sung by a 30 pound bee.:D Oh, and my dads at work for the day, so... I can just sit here and relax, if I could just get some room service though...;)
