Ditch the 'ulysses' part of the name. It's too different to be a Uly variant, but keep working on the general design. Shorten the cocpit, make the 'wings' more wider, and possibly swept differently. It has promise. But right now, it's looking a bit like a banged up covvy dropship. ;)

It's primative but I do like the general shape. Keep working at it.

yeah :) I know it 'still looks like crap and unbelievably crude, the curve on the cockpit doesn't even show properly here because of the lighting. The name of the final model will be named 'Gwayir'

I might shorten the 'neck' depending on how the body and wings are going to look, for the wings I am aiming to give them the form of a bird of prey (as in eagle) shielding it's catch (the model will get a turret on its belly), so it will definitely change shape....among other things the wings are still way too vertical near the tail and much too thick on top... but hey. for a first ever model and one that actually looks like something I think I did purdy damn good...btb, Blender has this 'smooth' toggle and with it active, it looks like this

It's the Romulan Gladiator fighter!

lol... Good job it was really close to what it looks like though you defiantely came up with that on your own, it's just uncanny.  Name it after a bird of prey!!! I'd repost the RG pic but strblvd is acting up and taking over 5 mins to get a pic link (screw that!).

It's not a Uly, but the basic shape is starting to look good.

Keep it up!

Has promise, and I'm quite frankly amazed you were able to accomplish anything at all in Blender.

Blender is not that hard to work in.  I amazed at alot of the stuff that comes out of MAX users most of the time.  I can't make heads or tails of it.

Blender's easy, learn a few key commands:  extrude(E), make face(select at least 3 verticies and (F), scale(S), ctrl to constrain movements to whole units, delete menu(X), and in new versions(2.33 and up) undo(U) and redo(Shift+U); and you're good to go.

if you want to name it after Gwaihir the Windlord, just make sure you spell it correctly.
Misspelled LotR names make me angry

Hehe, I still need to work on the basics, such as "opening new viewports" and "how do I rotate the perspective" :\

and here I am thinking, "wow, it is so intuitive...!" rotate, numlock on and the arrowkeys on the numpad...opening new viewports, hover the mouse over the side you want to split and right-click

meanwhile, stage 3 has become a definite lod1 candidate...

Would you mind putting a certain texture on it ;7 I don't want to say what is is though (hint) someone mentioned it earlier. I really just want to see how it would come out if you are willing to fool around.
