It was an utterly stupid move to have cancelled the show in the first place, but hey, this is good news :yes2: :D

he prolly thinks that all spacecraft should be made of saucers and nacelles.. and capable of breaking all known laws of physics concerning the speed of light. ;)
-
That was one of the reasons I really liked this movie. It was a good deal more realistic than other scifi shows
-
Aww... yes I loved it because, well no offense to Trekies but it wasn't farfetched like star trek.
-
And then there's the Buffy-isms.
Like when the fed is holding the Doctor hostage and he's all "Nobody move or I'll ki...." then Mal strolls up the ramp, blows the guys brains out in his stride and continues on past his corpse without a second glance.
-
The fact that Jewel Staite is kinda hot doesnt hurt either....

i always planned on watching this show but then real life got in the way. then it got cancelled after like... 10 episodes... so haven't had the opportunity yet
-
FF was okay, but it's no buffy.
-
Sorry, never heard of it.
*disclaimer: victim lives towards the far east where sci-fi shows are only a small minority of the crap that is displayed on televisions.
-
i never really liked FF... just doesn't interest me at all so i'm goin to leave this thread.

'Bout half way through the run she gets banged on the floor of the engine room.

This is old news, actually. You'll get the most detailed news here:

Honestly, I never saw the program so I don't know how good it was.
-
You can get the whole series in a box-set from Amazon for like £25.
-
which is like 70 canadian... id rather just d/l it and spit in the faces of the corporations.

Not even the first season.
It got 10 episodes in the US and, I think, 14 in the UK.
FOX aired the episodes out of order and ****ed them around in the timeslot. Then they *****ed about low viewing figures and cancelled it.
-
I did say in not after :D
I saw the first episode and I figured it had potential but I never got to see any more.
How one earth did this get cancelled but Andromeda get 4 seasons?
-
I dont know, probably because nowadays businesses like Fox are run by retarded monkeys in business suits...
-
Nowadays?
-
So, waht is thei Firefly thing about exactly? I mean, the plot, what's the plot?
-
Four words: Lexa Doig, Lisa Ryder.
If Firefly had been packed sluts it'd still be on the air. I mean, even the professional hooker on the ship had standards too high for any geek to attain, so the geeks didn't watch.

They terraformed like a million planets across the galaxy (despite what one of the intro monologues says).
Everyone went nuts and the core worlds decided they needed to establish some order, so they marched out and conquered all the independant systems.
Basically, it's the American civil war on a galactic scale. Mal and Zoe were troops for the independants.
The independants were basically crushed after an apocalyptic battle at Serenity Valley when dozens of super-bombers wiped out the entire area.
Mal and Zoe got a Firefly class transport and put together a crew. Now they go around smuggling and trying to piss off the Alliance.
On the ships there's Mal, Zoe, Wash (pilot and Zoe's husband), Kayleigh (engineer), Inara ('companion'), Book (priest who may or may not be a retired alliance black-ops guy), Simon (doctor), River (Simon's crazy, telepathic sister).
-
And the new gist is, that it's kinda a western in space. Which is what makes it immensly cooler than *insert Star Trek clone/Enterprise here*
-
It's good because they're not out to do what's right. They'll do the right thing if they have to, but they'll kill alot of people doing it.
Misc Quotes:
Jayne: Don't see much point getting involved in other people's trouble's without an up front price negotiation.
Zoe: As I said, no one's forcing you to go, this job is purely speculative.
Jayne: Good, don't know these people don't care to.
Mal: They're whores.
Jayne: I'm in.
Jubel Early: You know, with the exception of one deadly and unpredictable midget, this girl is the smallest cargo I've ever had to transport, yet by far the most troublesome.
Mal: Ship like this, be with you until the day you die.
Zoë: That's because it's a deathtrap.
Mal: You've only got to scare him.
Jayne: Pain is scary.
Wash: Psychic? Sounds like something out of science fiction.
Zoë: We live on a spaceship, dear.
Wash: So?
Inara: What did I tell you about barging into my shuttle?
Mal: That it was manly and impulsive?
Jayne: You know what the chain of command is? It's the chain I go get and beat you with 'til you understand who's in ruttin' command here.
-
and they use black-powder pistols, which had been obsolete even before the civil war.
-
Yeah, but they have a very good reason: Anything modern would be either incredibly expensive and restricted (like the Alliance wave-guns) or would smash through the hull and explosively decompress the ship.
-
[color=66ff00]The now (in)famous suprnova used to host a torrent of the entire run but it's been a bit light on good stuff recently.
Wouldn't mind DLing a few eps myself to get a taster. 25 bones is a bit steep for something I don't know I'll enjoy.

Sounds like I'd love that series actually.
