more like one of the artists that worked on spawn. if it was "The artist that did spawn" it would be Todd McFarlane.

He did a few Spawn special covers and is currently working on HellSpawn, IIRC:

I just now stopped to think about this and realized how goofy MGS will be with sound effects written all over it. You know like BANG! and Ka-BOOM! and such...
