I've always wondered.
-
A powerful computer and advanced software?
-
I believe 3ds max
-
Truespace 3.x, afaik.
-
No they didn't use truespace
-
The Models certainly look Poser 3 made, even if they weren't animated in it. I would Suspect either Lightwave or 3DS Max, Probably Max with Character Studio from the look of the rendering :)
-
Its max, you can get the exact same rendering effects using MAX... I don't know if you could with lightwave though, but it definately looks MAX done...
-
The game was modeled in Truespace, why would they use Max for cutscenes and not for modeling if they had it available ? Max is far superior to TS.
-
No. We have canon fact that all the models (with possible exception to the bipeds used in the cutscenes themselves) were made in 3ds max.

Dude... Where are you getting your info from? :wtf: It was all done in 3dMax. All the renders, all the meshes, everything model related. They even had their own tool for converting max/3ds files to pofs...

Correct... Expecially since TrueSpace was barely a fledgling program when FS1 came out...
-
was... is... same difference. I don't know why I ever used it in the first place.
-
Agreed... I can't touch TS without getting sick...
-
Well, I still texture with it, because it's soo easy, but modelling is now off limits...
-
I don't even do that...
-
Y'know, i linked to the website of one of the Fs1 animators about a month ago, on the main forum. He works for the company that made Ice Age, IIRC.

yeah, and veggie tails...
