Enjoy!

not buggy enough
-
Chop off a leg and call it a shivan...
-
Needs more bugs.
-
OMG i wanna play that..........
-
I don't think this game is due for a while yet so I'm gonna guess there's going to be more bugs.
All I know is that ever since I saw that part of the film, I knew they were going to make a game of it and I was going to play it.
-
Considering the lifespan of the average Marine in that particular scene, I'm glad there are not as many bugs ;)

Ah, but you are no average Marine! You are [dramatic reverb]Alpha 1[/i][/dramatic reverb]!
Oh, that's a different game :blah: But the same rule applies in every game :)
-
You mean Rico. :p
-
I'm in love.

Give it everything you've got!
*opens fire*
-
Should I or shouldn't I?
Oh, I know that I should.
There was already a SST game published. It was called Starship Troopers: Terran Ascendancy, and was a combination of book and movie. Sweet, sweet game. More info can be found on Home Of The Underdogs [and not only info]. I guess that it is fair to mention that, since AFAIK it is pretty much abandoned.
It was a platoon-level RTS.
As for the game in question here, it looks very nice.
-
very nice ... ;7
-
Looks quite convincing, simply awesome. :)
-
YES!!! YES!!! YES!!!!  :D :D
COME ON YOU APES!!! YOU WANT TO LIVE FOREVER?!!
*Locks and loads his rifle and runs into the fray, firing away!*
-
please...please tell me there is multiplayer for the game
-
Now, being a bug. That would be a thing to get moistened about :p
-
Something I don't get about Starship Troopers, why don't they just bomb the hell out the planet from orbit? I mean they certainly must have the technology.
-
They did/do. But because the Bugs live underground, they need to send the MI in to mop up.
They mention 'glassing the planet' a bunch of times in the book and movie.
-
That would explain why they are always engaging in what I classify as wasteland. But what about the radiation? The MI would be sterile and there would be very few Citizens around.
-
Obviously, they've dealt with the nuke radiation problem :p
-
Did they use nukes? (outside of strategic purposes against plasma bugs, as seen in the film). When you see the arial bombardment scene it looks a lot more like carpet bombing with conventional napalm or something...
-
Well, the personal launcher system is a nuke, and no doubt they'd not be clear from radiation range ( especially that time when they nuke the bug hole ). As for the carpet bombing, I think it's just a precision attack, I believe they mention orbital strikes at some point. You can't "glass" a whole planet with just bombers.
-
In the movie, there was that one scene where the terrans had a fleet moving into postition over the planet. They were being blasted out of space by plasma shots. Thats probably why

Not if you're French anyway... ;)
Joke! For the love of god joke!!
-
We have enough ICBMs for that too, you know :p

Yeah, they tried that, and got the heck bombarded out of them while they were still approaching the planet. Besides, the big important bugs hung out in deep underground caves and such (such as the mother bug with the nasty proboscis).
-
Gas, when we have a problem with bugs, around here anyway, we gas them. 1 or 2 ships equiped for high speed manuvers could get in close and gas the Bug positions using penetrating warheads that get deep before they release their payload.
-
Bugs can live in vacuum ( at least in Roughnecks ), so I doubt they give a damn about gases.
