and why would a boy have one?

There is another Glasweigan band called 'Arab Strap' IIRc.  I don;t know why.

But it's getting on my tits.  Obviously it is some variety of strapping.  but how is it arabian?

My first guess would be that it's similar to a jockstrap... but designed for hot weather?
