So?
Does it suck?
-
Looks pretty good actually, try inverting it and adding some stars ;)
It's a pity the edges are clipped really, if it had been a complete image you could almost use it ingame ;)
-
Thanks :)
Bah... the clipped edges can be fixed ;)

Well, it might have had an alpha channel. Photoshop makes transparent backgrounds white when you change the format to non-alpha compatible.
You got a drawing board or something? I have no idea what technique you used... but it's great :)
Neh...crappy job at making it black :p

How excactly did you make the background look black and err.. better??
I got tired of using tutorials that didn't work. So I tried it on my own, and found out the way on my own :D
-
Looks a bit like some nice creative use of the ink-dropper to me :)
-
Ink Dropper?? I'm such a newb... :p
Just to make myself more clear on what I was asking...
How did you get the background black??
-
I'm not sure how he did it to be honest... I'd wait until DC gets back ;)
-
The enignmatic fweebâ„¢ returns...
don't ask...
It's simple, takes like 2 buttons. Open the image, go to image-->adjustments-->replace color. Click on a white part of the image in the selection mode. I maxed out the fuzziness so it doesn't look too brutal. In transform, simply drag the Lightness bar all the way to the left. Wa-la.

Ok, your probally not going to like it... but just think what it would look like with surrounding nebula to give it more shape and make it look way better. :)

Oooooh...colors! I like it. What program are you using?
-
Photoshop :)
-
It looks vaguely like the V'ger cloud from ST:TMP. Nice.
-
Kinda cartoony, but rather nice.

Nice neb there:) lots of filters uses heh;)
-
A couple of idea's:
Add something like a noise layer, to make the whole thing about more gradient/cloudy. This just looks too opaque, cartoony, or like it's been painted using oil-based paint.
Use a lower compression rate when posting, I'm seeing artifacts.

mmmmm smudge tool?
-
You wouldn't believe how easy this is...
-
Make it more cloudy using another layer and use the difference clouds filter then overlay that layer, will make it look even better:)
-
Ok did it to all of them, I'll post them up later and try to get in-game shots of them ;)
-
Try throwing a few star layers in. And make some of the parts darker.
Use more difference in the opaque areas, especially try to create bright points, like there are star(s) behind/inside the neb there.
There is some really nice work here, but it is all to opaque and too solid to be a nice nebula, IMO.
