Title: fate of the mutineer
Post by: PeachE on June 19, 2004, 08:35:55 pm
couple notes. this is probably the finished version, but i haven't decided yet. i may still decide to do some touchup work. two, the little tiny white and red specs in the beach/eye scene are two human bodies. i know they're not visible at this res, but that's cuz the original res is 7500x4800. there's only so much detail that is gonna stay visible after a resize like that. there are also vultures/ravens flying above the trees. other than that, comments/criticisms welcome.

Holy f***ing crap!  I almost feel like paying you for the original.  This is some grade A art.

The branches through the bullet hole are new compared to the first WS version, right?

I like it quite a bit more this way. Your art always makes me want the large version and a magnifying glass, just to pick all the cool details out.

This is going to be a poster, right?

glad you guys like it.

yeah, i'm gonna get one print for myself just to see how it looks, do some touch ups, and then find someplace to list it. probably cafe press.

peachE, just outta curiousity, can you do any works like this outside of photoshop?.. like, with conventional methods?.. 'cause if you can.. you're got a bit of a money-spinner on your hands here.

if i remember right, the problem i had with watercolors are that they're rather unforgiving. it's not easy to cover up mistakes and i make a ****load of them.

thanks Setekh - always good to hear from you, mang

Grug - i'm not sure. i know i started it tuesday. and i'd say i whipped out the skull itself inside a few hours. but since then, i haven't worked on it too regularly. just come back to it every once in a while to add some more detail work or play with the water.

Redo the water seeping from his right eye so it's a vague silhouette of 3 Age of Sail kinda ship.
