oooookay......

That's a little cynical there ain't it?

While I will agree that Disney is in part to blame for the decline of Western Civilization, that's asking a lot of me to subscribe to the idea that Disney actively attempts to alter the mores of society with the protagonists of their films.

Well, most Disney movies follow the moral path

Low moral (beggining of the movie) -> high moral (found happiness) -> lowest moral (lost it, trying to regain it) -> highest moral (ending of the movie, recovered happiness)

To a child what can be more painful than being without parents or losing them?

It's to give the story more substance. When there's a death involved the characters can always look back and say "we'll do it for Mom!". :p

[color=66ff00]The line 'Brutally murdered in a stampede' cracks me up. It's like a sensationalist tabloid headline.

err...this is a joke right? Can people really be so sensitive?

I remember watching Bambi when I was a tyke, and Bambi's mother's death really got me down. I just didn't see why she had to die. And also the father...but I never tried to get Disney to change it. It adds to the drama and whatnot.

Lib: responsible for the decline of Western civilization? Explain how? They're only innocent childrens cartoons.

Everyone should have a chance to explain their poisition. If you start writing people off as loonies based on "sound bites" or before they can make their case, how is that any different than Fox News or Bill O'Reilly?

I don't think there's any more danger of censorship in North America or Europe, not in the classical sense. But what you have is a new form of censorship taking its place. Its self-censorship by the media and a mentality of intolerance by the people. That doesn't necesarilly mean anyone hear, just in general.

woah, way to be overly dramatic, eh?

Brutally murdered in a stampede

without needing to worry that our small children are being presented with gruesome, horrible, traumatic deaths of parents

I'm more concerned about the high levels of suck in the latest Disney films (barring Finding Nemo).

What I want to know is what kind of sad act watches Who Framed Roger Rabbit in slow motion in the hope of seeing Jessica Rabbit naked?

The one about The Rescuers is even weirder. At least Jessica Rabbit was in a position where you might have seen something had you been sad enough to look but who pauses random frames of a cartoon looking for porn?

When I hear of an easter egg in disney it makes me crack up, cause there are tons of people out there with their remotes going frame by frame just to get on a website and say "See I TOLD you!"

Plus I don't have to do the work!

Too bad I missed out on the first sales of Little Mermaid, I hear about the castle? Structure looked like a male organ on the cover of the box art. "Now HOW did they miss THAT one for so long?"

(bet it increased sales though!) ;)

Oh look honey, its the Little Mermaid video. I bet the kids will just love it. Let me just go back to the penis and get my wallet.

What?! No I did not just say penis, whats wrong with you? Yes, I'm positive. Yes, very sure. Look, why would I say something like that! Fine, I won't buy the damn video if you're so upset, but Janey and Ashley will be penis disappointed

...what?
