Dark Matter: The Baryon Project
A space shooter - FPS hybrid, which I always thought was a great genre that never saw any actual games released. So far, there is little information, but they have released both space and indoor screenshot, and it look amazing.
Space screenshots and official site:

I want!!!oneoneone NOW NOW... that looks awsome  :33k2:
-
Pretty.
The fighter looks cool in the first screenshot, but looks like it could be a lot better in design on closer inspection. Not that it isn't shiny and pretty...
-
looks a little like a starfury variant in basic design.
-
yeah, thats what I thought too. Its an almost exact copy of a Thunderbolt Starfury.
-
Looks cool
-
looks like X2 at higher rez 0.o
-
The Baryon Project? Am I the only one who hears a certain similarity between that name and a Freespace 2 TC?
Screenshots look pretty good too btw. If those are all in-game...
-
Just because Babylon and Baryon start with B's doesn't really mean anything. :wtf:
Other than the fighter looking like a B-5 one of course. :p
-
Actually, I totally read that as "The Babylon Project" until I saw the screenshots... then I went back and did a double-take. :D
-
Take out the l and change one b to an r and you get Baryon. :p
Edit: But of course it's actually the code name for Ferrium. ;)
-
the ship looks like a star fury ripoff and the models seem to lack textures in general.
-
Can't say that about the indoor environements, now can you? They rock.
Personally, I think the "smooth, shiny and no textures" is just a different visual style. Some like it, some don't. I do.
I also read it as "Babylon Project" the first time around, thats what got my attention. :D:D

Release date for that game is 2006
There rumor bout that game: that it's one of first game developed
by using XNA
-
Whats XNA?
aw man, 2006. Thats like...OK, I don't have that many fingers, but its many months away.

Well, at least we know that in the future, man kind has finally ditched the imperial system of measurement. Thats a nice turn of events,
its around 4am and I'm spamming, so sue me :D:D

The US must've fallen. :(
-
Ok, so if that's a starfury ripoff, the starfury is itself a ripoff of... huh, countless anime ships. Get real people, you really think the starfury is an original design?
That said, I don't like that ship above.
-
Hardly any designs are original these days. I think the originality is found in making an old design look good in a new context.

true:)

3000km/h?
Hell even an FS ship would go 216,000 km/h (60m/s) :p
-
More like 216 km/h.

It's 60*3.6, not 60*3600 :p

Me too.
And yeah, Ace, you're off a few zero's. Your average FS fighter goes slower then most current jetfighters.
