Title: Another stab at modelling Primaries
Post by: Black Wolf on July 01, 2004, 10:36:30 am
Well, I think I did a little better this time than last time, but I still think I can do a bit better with practice. It's as yet untextured obviously, It's almost certainly only going to be getting base max textures to make it look more like metal. It may be turned into a weapons animation for TI, depending on how it looks once it's been textured.

Basically, I'm just after opinions, or suggestions for future weapons designs I can practice on.

Tis not bad. Could use some smoothing, and a less vivid color scheme

Maybee needs some sort of "mount point", a few plugs and such where it would fit to the spacecraft.

Also, what does the bar along the top do? (with the 4 red bits)  It doesn't seem to be attatched to anything near the front.

As far as modeling goes, it looks good.

But with the design, I think it needs less coils and more gun-deathness... if that makes sense.

You were always a sucker for big guns :drevil:

What program do ya use BW? I tend to like explosed plasma chambers(eg, you can see plasma/energy/whatnot inside a cylinder).
The front red things look a little out of place, imo. Otherwise:

Nope :) All Max - GMax in this case, but I generally work in Max3. Unfortunately, I've lost access to the file (I meant to email it to myself from home, but went and forgot) so I wont be making any changes for a little while at least.
