Title: I weep (A.K.A. £37)
Post by: Martinus on July 01, 2004, 08:46:16 pm
[color=66ff00]Based on watching half of the series I bought the DVD boxset of Firefly, it really is a fantastic show. It's a damn crime that they canned it and continue pumping out nonsense, but then 'the man' has killed so many great shows.

Anyhow I also bought BSG 2003 which I also consider a worthy purchase due to it being rather good. I have to admit that the only reason I've bought them is that I downloaded them first.

Here's an interesting picture for you; I helped support these people because they made good TV, if it all worked in this fashion there'd be a heck of a lot less crud on our television sets, I'd spend more time there than in front of a computer because there'd actually be something worth watching...

But then nobody would get to watch 40 minutes of cop chases, reality TV or cut-from-the-mould soap opera's due to there being so much annoyingly excellent programming on.
That'd be a crime. :doubt:

I totally empathise, man. This sort of thing is the cancer that's eating good TV. We could be using TV to find out about the amazing world that we can't see ourselves, but instead we just get this junk.

Setekh: that exactly right. What we're getting now is Tom Clancy or Ann Rice, what we could be getting is Aldous Huxley, Douglas Adams, John Tolkien.

Yeah, that was such a clear analogy. Clear as mud.:D :D

i feel your pain, due to some crazy bastards who arrange the televisions programs here, sometimes the sci-fi shows are at either 11pm, 12am, or even 1am... :hopping:

anyway, "Reality television" isn't actually REALITY.. actual reality television is the ****ing news at 6 o'clock

and because of stupid programming, i have to buy the babylon 5 DVD's.:doubt:

T: yeah, but that's only one channel, and I doubt Veronica has the rights to the entire SG series, nevermind the latest ENT.

I can't. We'd lose the connection if we did. It's only thanks to TCO's job that we have this. I've said this before...

[color=66ff00]Tsk Lady T, you really should be a bit more hush hush. ;)

Anyhow you could have DL'ed all of Farscape, a far worthier show than ST:ent IMHO. :D
