I know, sore subject, but Freespace 3 (http://qualitysound.bose.com/pg/pro/products/freespace/fs3.jsp) is available now.
You can kill me later.

Excellent.
The prophecy has been fulfilled.

Anyone else but Mik.... darn you!
-
The FreeSpaceĀ® 3 system...
This is the one time I wish Interplay would sue... :p
-
Did anyone notice that they registered the Freespace name?
:D
I guess we can't call our favourite game by name any more :)
-
Tis a matter of caps... Bose has FreeSpace, Volition has Freespace. ;)
I should be really REALLY mean and sticky this. :drevil:
-
Actually, the game is FreeSpace too...
-
:wtf: Bose FS3
Not what I expected :p
-
*kills Mik*
Now that right there...talk about foolishly getting one's hopes up.

Hmm, you're right. Darn box font.
Shame it's a completely different category of product, otherwise it might cause Intercrap lawyers to come out of the woodwork (or the closet) and clarify the FS liscence position.
Drat.
-
Next thing you know they will try to get an actually get a game out. *Your mission is to protect the GTD Bose from an incoming wave of Interplay lawers!*
-

Haven't you heard? Interplay is gone.
-
Interplay is gone...... oh now thats what this button was for... :nervous:
-
what's the best that "Freespace 3" will be more popular than Freespace 1 and 2 ;) :D :nervous:

yeah, i'm sure Volition could sue a multi-trillion dollar company, and they may even get something out of it (naaa, they wouldn't :) ) but in the end they'd be the losers ;)
you can't sue a massive company, without massive funds ;7
-
So we need to find another multi-trillion company to sue them.
Meaning what we need is a DeLorean.

or if either Microsoft or EA buy what's left of interplay :p
-
If Microsoft buys Interplay, yeah, they might take it to court...hell, they've been patenting practically everything they can, like double-clicking.
But then in that case I'd be rooting for Bose. Microsoft doesn't strike me as the community-friendly type, and I'm not sure I want to see how they'd mutilate Freespace.
I haven't heard much of EA, but what I've seen seems to indicate bloatware galore...
-
Hooray for cake and kittens!

EA is great if you work for them. Thats about it. Christ, you cant skip their logo videos in any of their games anymore. Thats saying something.
-
Its officially later enough. :D
-
*kills mik again*
Can we eat the kittens and breed the cake to sell everywhere?
-
Mwuhaarrrrr!!! KT Like cake!
-
oh, ****....i just found this....
[willy grabs a butcher knife]
just...run...
-
bad move.
-
This is the second of Mik's threads to be brought back from the grave in a week or so - it almost feels like he's back.
-
Where'd he go?
-
Away
-
hrmmm...
-
That's it. I'm banning you Mik :p
-
oooh ooooh ban me too pretty please?
just kidding :)
no really.
NOOOO STOPP DONT DO IT!!!
:)
-

Microsoft made Freelancer. They have a reasonable track record with the genre...

Always play with their minds...

Oy vey
-
Am I going to be the first person to say it?
I will.
At least we know that FS3 will not be developed by Derek Smart.
-
It wouldn't be anyway.

Seriously. I think its cute bringing back my old threads, but dude. Don't do it.
-
Don't force me to bump Serious Sandwich, No Supernova?, and other archaic threads :p
-
So long as Poor Setekh stays buried, I'll be reasonably content. :p
-
Hmm... ;7
-
Don't get any ideas, Corsair. :p *finger hovers over 'ban' button*

Not that you need to bump No Supernova? anyway... the link is right there in your title. :p
-
And the link to Serious Sandwich should be in Sandwich's avatar. Also, I seem to remember Poor Setekh being quite a good thread.
At least I didn't threaten ressurecting TaS :p
-

no, but that'd take more than the usual amount of thread necromancy skills.
-
"GARIBALDI!!! YOU'RE A DEAD MAN!!!"

Night at the pub?

Yes. But at least I'm not an admin noob. :p
Tell a Story, perhaps? :shaking:

It was certainly unique. :p
And yes, Tell A Story. It's a scary thing when it's in full swing. ;)

Like a dark window onto our souls........ THE TERROR, THE TERROR!

Or a plain window into dark souls?

*Hercules Mk. XVIIIXVIXX emerges*
Corsair: Hmm... this sector of space seems oddly familiar...
*waits*
Corsair: Well, I'm bored. And talking to myself, apparently. I knew I shouldn't have loaded up on Space Crack before going on patrol.
*Hercules Mk. XVIIIXVIXX jumps out*
Don't forget about the second take of Poor Setekh... :nervous:
-
I actually would ressurect both Poor Setekh and TaS, but unfortunately I doubt they'd turn out anywhere near as well as they did before, and they'd probably get closed within a few moments.
-
What you really need is a few admins around... with a lot of spare hours and rendering programs on their hands. No substitute. ;)
-
Basically. If we did it now it'd probably just be a bunch of people saying "I blow your ship up!". Mind you, that's basically what the original was, but the renders made it much more fun :)
