The Scores have been reset and the normal account system can be used now

(if the mail system was working on the server you'd have to confirm your email address.. hence the auth url it's printing out - i'm working around this problem in the mail system for now)

you won't be in the points standings until you create a pilot
immediate CTD? what version are you using, do you have your user/pass entered correctly

I'm not even getting a prompt for a username and password.
I've tried both the 3.6 exe and the build you posted above.
EDIT: Is there a commandline reference to do that?
Second, do I need to adjust multi.cfg?

A) did you download the config from the other thread
B) your user/pass won't be prompted - you change your PXO user/pass to the correct ones

I should mention: points cheating will result in my deleting the offending pilot profile (but not the user account)

Is there a package of all validated multiplayer missions somewhere? Can't even find hints when I'm as tired as this...

I never noticed that Cetanu had put his FREDding lessons up on FREDzone.
ANYONE who uses FRED to make missions should read those immediately :)
I think I might re-read them tonight before I start FREDding myself.

found something intrestin seems like old PXO made pilots keeps medals but looses rank,pts,kills,missions.etc
and keep gettin ensign rank allthe time :D

yeah,, fs2netd doesn't save rank... i may fix that - but that would force-upgrade everyone at one time - anyone with an old client would no longer be compatable with the system when i upgrade -- and i have no ability at this point to enforce versions

ah ok well what about stable validated missions the list of non and valid mission list keeps chance all the time...

you can use the old file, but the server is going to force zero your scores

Both. Register online then run FS2 as usual.

It's ok now. The probs comes with the cfg file. I didn't have the require file to log me in FS2.

Kazan... since a bunch of people are having trouble with multi.cfg, can you code something that would check to see if the file exists and is valid, and if not, create it?
I think it's missing in all the HOTU packages.

it's not multi.cfg it's fs2open_pxo.cfg

Still Goober does make a fair point. I thing WCCoolmon has added the file to the media.vp but it is rather bad practice for FS2_Open to fail in this manner when at the very least just changing the message would at least give them a clue as to what is wrong.

I've seen several posts now of people reporting crashes when the solution was to add a missing file. In this case it's fs2open_pxo.cfg; it has been multi.cfg in a few other cases. And FSO is supposed to be playable without the media vps.
The original FS2 created a multi.cfg file if the current one happened to be deleted; FSO should do the same thing.

Its been awhile since i last posted, but this was the best reason to since 3.6 came out.
The multiplayer aspect so far is very promising. however, i noticed a few things, possibly your aware of this...
1. When you register to your site Kazan, and I recieve the "verification" email, it doesnt fully display the link. I copied the remainder of it in the email and pasted as normal but for some reason when i access it, it says: Authorization failed! Either Username or Hash were incorrect!
2. Even though i cant verify the screen name, i can still pretty much log-in with i think ANY NAME, and still get in, but i get messages such as, "You are playing with hacked files...stats wont save", and, "Log in failed".
but i still saw games! i dunno if its me doing something wrong or im using the wrong multi-port being forced... dunno.
btw-USING 3.6 as is, with no hacked tbls except what came with 3.6, and still gives me the messages....

part 2, i noticed i can make a game and play it, but for some strange reason when i tried to log into someone elses game i crashed when it loaded (didnt see the actual ingame screen after loading).... i dunno i might be oblivious to the new things and on how to use it..... is there like 1 global ip everyones using to show games?

you're allowed to see games without a valid login
make sure you have no zpack, no speffects unless they're updated with the new patch, and you have upgraded to 1.2

well i figured out the register thingy, your registrar doesnt like spaces between words... silly me....

what zpack, s-efx w/new patch, and upgraded what to 1.2? im sorry im vaige these... (and also do u recomend emptying the game folders of data that can be found in the vp's provided by V & scp?)
EDIT: also found a newer version of the exe u debut on the darkwing forums posted by i believe it was jtd...sumthing... going to try now... hopefully my dailup wont kill my log in...

well i still get that "im playing with hacked TBLs...." message... and i removed all folder tbls.... strange? still wont save stats... any one other than kazan wanna run a test server with me log into the multi now i will be on for awhile to see if anyone joins and is interested in testing my poor end multi platform lol... (Freelancer in multi)

Have you patch your FS 2 ? with the version 1.20.

The MV-ZPACK contains hacked tbl's. Use Lightspeeds heap of fixes (see thread with that name) to fix that issue.

I've done everything in this thread- I get the CTD when I make a game.
Yes I have the 1.2 patch.
Yes registered and using the FS2net login as my PXO login.
I have downloaded 2 versions of the cfg file (fs2open_pxo.cfg and fs2_open_pxo[1].cfg.fs2- the 1st from the link in this thread the 2nd from the wiki link) and put both files in the /data directory.
I am using the .exe WMCoolmon post in this thread.
I've removed the speffects.vp from the root to a backup directory (dont want to patch with LS stuff cause I'm in the middle of a campaign and dont want to lsoe my pilot).
Still get CTD when I start a multi game. If there is something I'm missing, or if its just a bug that hastn't been fixed yet, pls let me know?
edit: while I'm at it, what time are most people usually online? Doesn't help to get this to work if I dont know when to look for everyone...

First, try deleting fs2_open_pxo[1].cfg.fs2; you should only need fs2open_pxo.cfg.
Second, if that doesn't fix it, can you get a more general idea of when this crash started? (PS: You should mantis (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,25327.0.html) this bug, I know others have been having similar problems)

You have to place the "fs2open_pxo.cfg" only in the Freespace 2 directory not in the data.

ok bit of bumpage, but didnt want to make a new thread and didnt know where else to post this so anyway ...
goteverything working and what not for multi, but i keep getting hacked tables, as faras i can tell i have got rid of all offending material but it keeps on saying it, so is there a list of vp's or what not that multi does support cause im slightly confused now.
