It appears that my Step-grandma is dying. They don't know for sure, but IIRC she's pretty ill. So my Grandpa has offered to fly the family out for funeral. We are on red alert over here and dad says we're to be ready to go within 24 hours of notification.
So just giving you guys (and gals) a headz up so you don't wonder where I've gone off to. :D
Oh and before you go off saying sorry, keep in mind that she is a Christian.
Those here without the lord,
How do you cope?
For this morning we don’t mourn
Like those who have no hope

Bummer dude and yes I will say sorry. :(
-
I'm sorry to hear that.

That sucks dude, now me grandpa's dead I can actually appreciate how people feel in this situation. But on the bright side, she'll get to meet Johnny Cash
-
I hope the best for her :)
and I'm glad you feel that way about it.

Well at least shes in a better place. My Grannie died too a while back but she is in a better place too. I also hold a firm belief in Christianity as does the rest of my family.

That doesn't mean you should be jumping around sounding like death is a good thing. :doubt:

No, and he wasn't. But we do believe that heaven's a heck of a lot better place to be than here on earth, especially if a loved one is suffering or some such situation.

Plans have changed, dad and I are flying out this Thursday to join the rest of the family (they flow out last Saturday) in California and spend a couple or few weeks there at least saying goodbye to her (if she's conscious). But otherwise, they don't expect her to live much longer.
So yeah, I'm not planning on being able to be on a computer for the next few weeks.

Sorry to hear that. Best of luck... and all the well wishes that fail to come to mind right now...

HotSnoJ,
There's a song that I would like to recommend to you:
In My Life by Selah (The "Josh Grobans" of Christian music)
I don't have a link tho. But I wish you the best of luck and all the blessings the LORD has and will bestow on you and your family.
Just look to Him and He will lift you up. God bless, brother.

This thread reminds me of when my own grandmother died. Cancer and all. My deepest sympathies. I hope your last meetings with her will be meaningful.

Hot consider yourself hugged by me, dude. My grandmother, since her severe stroke a couple of months ago, has been in and out of intensive care since. Three weeks ago they called the entire family in to pay our last respects as the doctors didn't think she was going to survive the night.
3 weeks later she's still alive, but I know it's not comfortable living for her. But we know she'll be going off to a better place soon.
Best wishes to you and your family, man. Here, have another hug *hug*

[q]she'll get to meet Johnny Cash[/q]
While it could be construed as insensitive, I have to say that's the best reply I've seen so far. Be well Hot, just be there for your folks and you'll be fine.
