I'm guessing it's a SEXP thing that knocked your hull out, so nothing actually killed you.

You had a sexp that was supposed to kill some ship, but you forgot to change the ship referenced from the default of Alpha 1, to whatever you wanted to destroy. YOUR OWN MISSION KILLED YOU!! Blaaa haa haa haa haa!!!! :drevil: :drevil: :drevil:

.I thought it said self destruct as the cause of death, in that scenario.

I've heard of this happening before, where the message "xxx was killed by unknown reasons" or something like that, was traced back to a "self-destruct/alpha 1" sexp. That was about 8 months ago IIRC.

Its always been when there's a self-destruct sexp set to A1... I used to do it a lot to keep people from cheating...
