Title: Anyone know a good webspace provider?
Post by: TrashMan on July 10, 2004, 05:00:17 pm
I can't acess my swooh account.
God knows why...I might have forgotten the username or pasword after I fromatted the HDD.

Anyway, I'm looking for some FREE webspace that supports .zip or .rar files, pictures and doesn't have a small file size limit.
And possibly lot's of space.

anyone knows a good one?

How much space?

Edit: What's this for?

I might be able to lend ya some space on my 1&1 account, if it's for a noble cause ;)

swooh is good..

There are others out there, but are hard to find...

As far as size goes 50megs is minimum, the more the merrier.

I know one can find thousands of webhosters, but most have low bandwith or don't allow zip files and such..

I don't mind Stealth, it's not like I use mine all that much.  Although that may change.

spymac.com

Takes a long time (just like swooh) to get your account, but 1GB of pop3/webmail and 1GB of webspace is a lot for free.

It's a bit slow but it works.

It's hiccuping again, so: No.

That's the problem with having hosting as opposed to a dedicated server: Any moron can lag/stall the server and you've just got to wait for the server admin to get around the rebooting it.

I was referring more to the situation with Ms. Axe.

Technology is A-1 Supar! If you knew what your doing then as admin you dont ever need to reboot it yourself! unless your some kind of crappy hosting service.....

Automating services is stupid and poses and incredible risk to the well-being of your server.

All it takes is one wrong move or someone to get smart and BAM! It goes down every 30 seconds.

Banned for the whole ST Commander thread thing? :wtf:

That seems irresponsible, at best.

I just did...fascinating read, I completely missed the sensors debate. :D

Still, even with the 'official forum flame' and further posts I don't see how either one of you could ban the other. To be honest, it seemed to me Trashman insulted DS9, you insulted him, and the rest of the thread was a snipefest of mutual dislike until it exploded, spewing flames all over the place. Neither one of you exactly had the moral high ground.

Anywho...not my forum, not my problem. I don't visit NW much at all, and I don't want to start another flamewar. So...consider my opinion stated.

Heh, I'd love to continue this discussion as to why I did it, but i think it's best to let it rest and get back on-topic :p

Normally, I'd unban you, but there's this rule at NW that you don't undo something an admin did, so... sorry.

No, there's a rule that you can do whatever you like with your moderator powers, but you have to accept the fact that people with more power than you might take exception to your actions.

For example, Tiara could delete all the forums, but she'd have to accept the fact that I'd sneak into her house and do horrible, horrible things to her face while she slept.

Oh, really?  On both counts... Interesting.  Ehh. I still don't feel like doing it.
