k - as the title says - this is very much a WIP right now. all i've got is the face. however, i am going to draw the whole body. probably standing, with the body a little off to the left. anyway, what i'm looking for is some thoughts on what to do for the bg. i'm pretty sure i know what i'm going to do, but i just wanna fish for a few ideas before i get too far to turn back.
anyway, here's the pic. enjoy.

looks good so far, but have yo got the guts to do the fur.. one single 1pixel brushstroke at a time? ;) :p
-
The cheeks look too flat, but other than that it kicks ass. Just need some more fine-hair definition to give it that chaotic, organic look.

scale up the picture about four times, and make that brush 5 pixels and ja. though i did use a bit of smear.

yeah, as i said, wip. fine-hair definition will be one of the last steps when i get it looking exactly the way i want. correcting some of the shading is next. then i put in the background. then the fine details.

:eek2: DUDE DUDE that is just too awesome :eek2:
i am no good in judging arwork so just say that is awesome looking.
can you make that pic a litle bigger like for a desktop
-
My instinct says that the eyes need to be bigger, but I am not sure... As for a BG, the obvious would be lightning and storm, but this wolf looks more sad smiling then all agressive. I think misty foggy swamps, or some mist-covered fields.
Good to see you're back with more artwork. When are you going to setup that cafepress store you were talking about? My mom offered me to buy me some poster for my room now that I passed the year, and there are some works by you that I'd like.

It's the shades of grey and brown that I can't get over. Love it, PeachE. :)
-
It's neat.

the original wolf is about 4 times as big as this smaller version. and i'm planning for the wolf itself to be only about an eight of the canvas. so yeah, pretty sure it'll be big enough for a desktop ;)

the background i'm leaning towards right now is a recent kill. maybe some birch trees with a splash of blood on them and some fog.
as for the posters, Mutineer is completely ready to go. i still need to rework Break. and this one will be the right size when i'm finished. but i can't set up the shop till i have a little money (i wanna get the prints myself before i sell them just to make sure they look okay), and i'm completely broke.
-
It's like a Monet picture.
-
The recent kill background would indeed fit quite nice, but I just keep thinking the wolf's face isn't all agressive, but more friendly like.

That's what they look like right up until they bite your throat out :D
-
Nice and fluffy ^^
I wanna pet it
-
something about the eyes seems wrong, like there too small or angled wrong
-
it's possible the angle is slightly off, but the size is spot on.
-
I love it already Peach. Detail will make it awesome.
-
What detail do you want to add to that picture? Fleas?
-

;) in the last edit, i tried to add tiny fine hairs. didn't come out quite as detailed as i was hoping so i'm gonna make another pass at it tonight and post that version.

Stage Two:

-
Much better fur definition, but the head seems a little wide - not much that can probably be done about that this late in the stage though I'd expect.
-
you'd be surprised. i'll see what i can do on the next pass.
-
Lookin' good man.
-
damn, this place was down long enough.
anyway, here's the nearly finished product .

Holy freaking hell, that's awesome.
-
*speechless*
-
That's great job. Simply superb.:yes:
-
I join the three above, really good.
What does the background represent?
-
Blurry trees?
-
If those were trees, they would be brownish.
-
Not in the winter time...they're snow smattered trees...
-
the man speaks the truth.
-
Looks like a photograph...
Blood?
-
...it's a wolf...it eats meat...it get blood on its coat...either that or it's injured slightly...
-
Or somebody tried to disable his leg with Ketchup.

i think it's pretty obvious it's a drawing (there's still something wrong with the bottom jaw, the coat on his back is still a little too undefined, the hair on the top of his head looks like it was freshly cut by a barber, etc), but thanks. i put a ****load of work into this one.
-
Whoa.
-
hey man, that's _heaps_ good. like, heaps really good.
when i looked at that last one but, i thought 'husky' rather than 'wolf'. as in husky dog? oh well, they're both really similar anyway. maybe cos the fur's black, i always thought wolves were lighter.

..Oh..my..god.. Beautiful..

B-E-A-Utiful!

Fantastic stuff. Fantastic... :yes2::cool::yes:
