Use this for angry thoughts.
Use the other for happy posts.
And use the original for actual developments and news.
-
Spammer. :p
-
This one is really needless. :doubt:
-
Oh let him be. For the first time in a long while, he has to fight to be the centre of attention.
-
Don't need this on two threads.
-
This isn't a thread for insults or the like.
I'm asking you in all seriousness how much you'd be willing to donate via pay pal or some other similar agency so that we could buy the licence as a community and prevent Derek Smart from developing FS3.
DO NOT post silly answers. I was the amount you would really put your hand in your pocket for.
ONLY make one post. The number of posts will be counted against the number of votes.
I'm working dollars (roughly equivalent to the Euro about 1.5 dollars to a pound).
This thread is just to get an idea of what sort of level of cash we could raise. We'll be round with the collection tin later if it looks like it might be worth it. Obviously some people will pledge support but not give it while other people will join late and give a donation.
BTW when one of you admins post can you tell us if the possibility exists of giving anyone who does donate a special avatar to recognise their contribution?
-
50 bucks easily
-
5 Euros... I'm poor... :(
-
20, right away... but where do I pay, and don't try it Anon :p
-
Funny thing is I just proposed on the NW forum half jokingly about a paypal account.
I'd be willing to shell out $50. If we got everyone to shell out between $25-$50 we could raise enough money to outbid.
-
$20 - $30
-
$50. I'm penniless, but I'de come up with it somehow.
-
£40-50 then maybe a little something every couple of weeks.
-
$50, it'd be worth it.
I don't think we'll raise enough though.
-
if it's not just to spite this Derek guy, then yeah... $50+
so what's going to happen once the rights ARE ours? (if it even happens... you've got some great competition you're up against...)
-
I have few bills, and it's been that way for years, so I have a decent amount of money I do nothing with. Nonetheless, I'm probably capped at $1000.
I'll put that up only if we really will get the license, and we'll really do something with it. Pissing in Smart's face, in itself, isn't worth it by any stretch of the imagination.
-
So, we now have ~1500 bucks. that's more like it. keep it flowing guys :D
-
I could easily pitch in a 50, and could probably con my roomates to contribute too, so 60-100 bucks.
-
We really don't need this, and I'm tired of threads about this same subject.
-
A good question to think about... are we doing this just to spite Derek? or for a real cause. making a game isn't just getting rights, everyone on their free time pitching something in, and then marketing it... there's a lot more involved. one of the reasons (remember) that FS2 didn't do well was because of the poor marketing on the part of Interplay. Marketing takes money, a lot of it, a large investment, as does the time and energy into making the game. i'd be willing to do everything on my part to help, but where exactly would we start, and how would we go about it?
Discuss...

Let's stop this damn thing, ok? Keep it contained, we have two threads already.
-
Why the hell the last thread was shot I dunno. just re-open it. It was serious.
Close the rest for all I care but that was the one that was actually serious.
Stupid descision if you ask me.
-
I think that big, 200+ post thread serves less purpose than the fund thread.
-
Indeed.
-
Look, far be it from me to question the wisdom of the hlp admins but speaking as mod myself elsewhere you just got to know when to leave threads alone and let users blow off steam. Close them a few days later quietly so it doesn't keep going, but let them have a rant at the time.
No harm comes, normality returns. ;)
-
Hint: don't ask why threads were closed.
