Well, I'm currently reading the AV thread and the thread here about this whole Derek Smart incident/controversy. I go to Canada fishing for a week and all this happens :P. Anyway, I caught this in the AV thread and figured I'd bring it to everyone's attention in case no one noticed.
DS discriminates against people who don't speak English well. (FreeTerran and HIG probably appreciate that)

This Mr. Smart sounds like an ***hole to me and I know of his Battlecruiser games by reputation (not in a good way) and I won't buy FS3 if he makes it.

We have too many threads about DS, he has become the most hated man in the gaming community.

Yeah crazy things have happened in the last couple of days. Lots of people upset and certainly this is yet another one that will stick with people.
I understand and more or less agree with your sentiment. This IS a multinational forum with a multitude of languages and cultures represented. The expectation is for all to be respected regardless of any of those or other factors. Alot of that has been thrown to the wind in the last 48 hours from more than one source. Nonetheless, everyones words are their own.
While I know this thread was meant as nothing of the sort...we've got plenty of the Derek Smart issue threads floating about and this is yet another thing we should try and not provoke. There needs to be some time and some repairs made. So I'm closing the thread for now. May re-open later but we're going to try and keep these threads to a minimum.
