I've checked that base and its updates have correct explosion effects and not corrupted either.

Any ideas?


3.6 is used.
I've also checked that they have "use large textures" enabled.
Effects are Lightspeed's highres explosions.
So far only two have reported this issue.

It is a common problem, I think people might go onto Mantis, see it's there and leave it at that. Even if people just tag a note onto the end of the current report to say they have this problem too will give an idea of how common each problem is :)
