What do you think? Is PC Gamer lying? Or do we really get to see these games? And if it's true, who's making Baldur's Gate 3, as Black Isle is dead?
-
What gets me is: Why is it called Baldur's Gate 3 if it's set in the Dalelands?
Shouldn't it be called Shadowdale or something? :p
That would be like something called Los Angeles 3 being set in St. Louis...
-
coool.
I heard rumours that Interplay was working on Baldur's Gate 3 but canceled it at the same time they canceled Fallout 3.
-
I think from the numbers it's an old issue from before Interplay got wiped out - IIRC no-one's grabbed the BG license
-
Actually, no. According to the numbers, that would be the issue for September. And the license is now owned by Atari.

It may build on the original BG plot. Throne of Bhaal didnt take place anywhere in the city iirc...
-
True.
However the Throne of Bhaal is supposed to be the end of the original story. So I wonder what the plot for this one will be.
-
Atari also assured us that new Baldur's Gate or Neverwinter Nights titles would get the attention of a top-level developer.
It's just ominous... :nervous:
In any case, I am looking forward to both titles. :)
I own BG1, 2 and NWN and all their expansions. Great games.

Icewind Dale, IWD: Heart of Winter, Icewind Dale 2, and Planescape: Torment are good ones to pick up if you liked BG. I got the IWD series as a boxed set, came with two bonus disks of media and a soundtrack. Torment is a bargain bin game... could easily get it for 5 bucks.

Depends on whether it's the UK issue of PCG or not - and given the articles you cite all came out in April, it could well be :)

Actually, that's not the page I intended to link to. How odd. The one I meant to link to had far less information on it. The only real data on it was the publisher.
And anyway, if you go over to http://nwvault.ign.com/comments/1090193187,28678,.shtml, where I found the picture, you'll notice it says September issue.
-
Bioware has said that they will not make a NWN2. Now whether Atari is trying to milk a rock I don't know. They'd be better off making a fourth expansion.
BG3 is just wrong in so many ways.
-
Bioware's next NWN-like game is Dragon Age. It's not NWN2 but more of a spiritual successor. You can find more about it on NWvault if anyone cares. :p

Or hang out at the forum at Bioware's site. Only fun to hang out at those forums pre-release though.
