Looking at the main forums site, I just saw that there are now 2000 registered members, with the newest member being varus.
So, time to celebreate this round number....first round's on me
(http://i.cnn.net/cnn/2004/TECH/ptech/02/25/bus2.feat.beer.network/story.buddata.cnn.jpg)
EDIT: Ok, the member ID's are already at 2052 ..... but if you divide this by 666 you get 3.0810, which is Pi (for small values of Pi)....or something.
Anyway, free beer !
-
Coolness. Now we just need to change those Buds for Bosch Beer. ;)
-
WOW!
that was fast :eek2:

Anyone wants to change the picture of the couple to one of a Shivan ship firing a beam cannon, and "german" to "NTF"? :D
-
its more then 2000... member 2000 joned during the DS stuff, but if you look at the most recent member's ID, we're beyond it...
but still, pass the b33r :p
-
the counter was on 1999 this morning, so I guess he joined today.

what is the member counter on the main forum site counting then ?
-
lol, who knows. Might as well be counting sheep.
-
Follow the counter on the main page, not the IDs - those are incremented automatically, and deleted member codes are not reused.
-
Woooo, time to join in on the celebration :D :D

That surprised me. MG tends to be quite quiet (we talk a lot via ICQ or IRC instead).
:D
Oh well I guess no one would complain if we were a little less secretive :)
-
Yea, the activity has been on a rise lately. Look at this.
Most users ever online was 154 on 07-16-2004 at 12:59 PM.
Of all the time HLP has existed the record number of users online was THIS MONTH. Now thats something to brag about.

That's right, there are so many cool things I'd like to spoil ;)
But we should do something about the post count first.
:)

I like those Bosch beery bottles - those ring pulls for the caps rock.

Same here. The router is a wonderful invention. I can be online all day(when the comp is on, I mean :)). Would HLP support more people with routers? It would increase the post/day average.

Who didn't? ;7
-
I still can... Just need to look through the older threads and be reminded of how much... :p
-
10k wont take me that long, the way Im going I'll probably make 5,000 the next few weeks. :p
-
Doubt that. Unless we start spam threads again... which'll kill our chances of being taken seriously...

-
over 500,000 Hell Yeah! damn post count is moving fast
-
Predictions, please: When will we reach the 600,000 postcount? I predict next February.
-
I can cheat, because I know how many posts/day we have. ;)
-
Well you Setekh hit 20.000 post count too :p somehow
-
That'll take a while. Gone are the days when I kept up with 10% of the postcount. :p
-
*contributes again*

*revives thread from its dark moisty grave*
Scratch the 2000, we've crossed 3000 now.
That makes 1000 new members in only a little bit more than a year. Granted, most of them are not regular posters, but HLP sure has received more attention recently. yay
-
Yes. Nice huh? Almost three new members per day on average, not bad.
-
wowsers.

Thought I saw more than 4 people have postcount higher than 10,000?

Looks impressive, but I think the number of active/daily posters has actually remained about the same. Several people who were regulars a year or two ago have now pretty much disappeared or post very rarely, but they have been replaced by others.

Unfortunately due to April Fools we still have several uncounted posts, so a new tally wouldn't be accurate.
reminds self again to process the updated backup file for Styxx :nervous:
-
Indeed. Aren't we the thriving little nation? Think we can join the UN?
-
I bet we lost 100+ newbies from the crazyness of April fools. That was such a :wtf: day.

Raa - you busy later?

I'm still surprised at it, really. FS is both an ancient and a niche game. I shouldn't be so surprised though, with the work with SCP guys are doing though... gotta get around to highlighting that.
-
:) This is all cool. I’m just glad I found other people that like Freespace as much as I do. How many members are from other countries?
-
It really is surprising. Back when VBB was still active and HLP was just starting who would have known this huge scene after some years.
Bah, everyone knew :p

Quite a few, actually....depends on what you term 'other countries' :p
However, the board (not unusually) is populated mostly by Europeans and Americans, which isn't really surprising.
but then, you do have a few asians milling about here and there (like me)
edit: hmm...should I be ashamed? :p I've been here 2 and a half years already, and all I have are 3k posts. w00t I guess :p
-
Dunno about how many still actively post, but offhand we Scots, Welsh, N/Irish, English, Greeks, Poles, Portuguese, Canadians, Germans, Finns, Swiss, Swedes, French, Canadians, Brazilians, Argentinians, Dutch, merkins (of course), Ozzies, Italians, Israelis, and Danes.
I think the Brits and Germans have the highest number of active peeps behind the Americans, but I'm really just guessing there :)
No Spanish IIRC. Which is a little odd.

And another 1000. I've missed the exact day we've crossed 4000, but I know we were below it about 2 weeks ago.
Looking at my last thread revival in September, that makes +1000 in ~6 months.
It seems those PC Gamer articles draw some attention after all . And there sure are a lot of new people around here.
-
Crazy. Also, we have 153 members with more that 1k posts (think about that!), of which 11 have more than 10k posts!

2. It's still better than Tennants.
It'd be better than Tennants even if you shoved the bottle up your rectum and gave yourself an alcohol-free enema, though.

Just make sure you take the cap off first.

Mayby I shouldve taken off the cap.
