Title: Found something a bit odd....
Post by: Grey Wolf on July 22, 2004, 07:51:57 pm
When I was trying to remember when I started work on my campaign, I typed the name of the first mission I released into Google, and found this page: http://www.amigalien.de/freespace/hp/mods.htm
For some reason, my mission was mirrored on the page. The thing is, I didn't get any credit for it at all, or get asked first. Anyone else see their missions on there?

It's an Amiga Freespace webpage. I downloaded a couple of the missions and they seem to have included a readme in the .lha file.  Which mission is yours?

Send them an e-mail and ask them to link to an FS site of your chosing and they'll probably be happy to do it.

It has my readme file, but when I had initially made the mission, I had forgotten to put my name in it. However, to put it up there, they had to have pulled it off of VWatch, as it's the only location where I uploaded it, so it should have the name I used there listed somewhere in the package (wolf2005). I'll probably e-mail them later, it just seemed rather odd.

It's probably a case of someone having downloaded a large number of missions and then not remembering where they got them from. :)

One thing I did notice is that all the campaign files are hosted on Aminet not on this website. Hippo and Goober (and anyone else with FS1 campaigns) might want to look into getting their campaigns up there (even if they don't go through this website).
Aminet is a huge resource for Amiga people. It's like Download.com, tucows and all the other major PC download sites rolled into one.  Put an .lha of those campaigns up and you'd get quite a few downloads from people using the Amiga version.
