Yeh, I've been waiting for this for a long time, every since the first game came out.
-
Ive been watching for this thing since May... and no matter how much it sucks, this movie is gonna rock...
-
Looks like a good action movie, not much more. But often, that enough, if just for a fun Friday night.
-
anybody has a direct download link?
-
Awww, time for the Predators to shine I think. This looks superb.
-
i saw it at the theater when i went to go see i, robot. i normilly frown on movies based on video games but il make an exception in this case. now that there is a movie affirming that aliens and preadators exist in the same universe. the question is what timeframe does it take place in?
-
Actually the movie has been in developement even before the video games came out. The spark started with Predator 2 when you saw the alien skull in the trophy room. Dark Horse made a successful Comic series and there were some books written. The first AVP game to ever be developed was for the atari Jaguar.

21th century, around now.
The alien skull in Predator2 wasn't really an alien skull, it doesn't have the eyes at the right place :p

Ah, but you should know, in each alien film, the alien has been different. So, the theory running now is that the alien chestburster takes on some of the properties of the host species. Like in Alien3, it was more animalistic since it came out an animal. Alien 4 had them more brown and intelligent cause the were cloned out of Ripley. And yada. AAanyway, the effects team poped that in for a joke in Predator2 if remember correctly. :D
-
first its a woman that kicks the aliens ass then its Predator, when is a movie going to come where the alien race are the winners, it not fair i tell you :)

From what I have heard, the idea first came from a comic book. That was long before the first AvP game came out.

Yeah, but obviously, the AvP aliens are the same from Alien4, how would you explain that? :D
( and how do you explain the same alien in Alien3 and alien3 director's cut? :D )
Windrunner: from tne trailer, there's at least one Predator owned by the aliens :D
You can safely bet that the humans get a second one, and... mmh... Nico's omen: there's gonna be some sort of cooperation between the chick and the third predator before the end of the movie, then the predator will want to go "autodestruction" and they won't be friends anymore :p
Btw, I'd still like a direct link to that trailer, I hate that windowed crap.

Im quite certain it takes place around the same timeframe as the 3rd Alien movie, considering one of the main characters is a certain Charles Bishop Weyland...
And so far, the Alien are ahead in the polls by a couple hundred thousand ;7
-
It's on current day Earth, actually. Weyland is actually the guy who founds the Weyland Corporation, apparently - probably they'll use this as an explanation about how Weyland-Yutani already knew about the Aliens in the original movie.
And then there's no Colonial Marines, of course, which is a major letdown. But still, might be good, who knows.
-
I gonna go watch AVP most likely:)
-
Definately watching it on opening night. Already got tickets from a place that rents out the theatre, mwuhaah :)

What Thunder said. It happens in our days, and Bishop is the cofounder of the Weyland Yutani corporation.
The Bishop series of droids would then be some kind of hommage ( but that's kindda ruined by the fact that the Alien3 bad Bichop at the end tried to convince Ripley he's the real thing, but whatever ).
...
Sometimes, I can't help but realize how much of a nerd I am :doubt:

No, not android, more likely a clone.
-
Too...Much....
Nggghhh!!
*Head explodes*
-
I am prepared to bow down and worship this movie
-
Then you shall be spared a firey, burning death via plasma weaponry. I can't wait to see the weak little scientists get torn apart from both sides :D
And apparently the movie is based more around our time, probably somewhere around 2050, as Bishop is already a multi-billionaire robotics expert.
-
*waves angry fist at sky*
Bishooooooooooop! God damn yoouuuuuu!
-
Bishop was designed to look like the co-founder of Weiland Yutani, so, a whole line of em came to play! w00 w00! :ha:
-
I hope they don't **** it up with the aerobatics. Fake falling and throwing-through-the-air always kills an action movie.
If they look like they're putting some muscle into their fights, I'll be happy.
Other than that, who gives a **** about plot?
-
Are there even still directors out there stupid enough to do cheap action scenes like that?
-

The alien3 one you mean? His dislocated ear definitively shows that he's an android.
-
I'll definitely watch this film!
