who's seen it? I just watched it, and was amazed. I expected it to be good/different, thats why I picked it up at the video store, but it exceeded my expectations. The art is superb, absolutely right down to the detail. The characters are perhaps the most expressive I have ever seen in an animated film. The plotline, the sounds, there's so little to criticize, its just that good.
The French are still the masters of cool/wierd visual presentation. You would think that some enterprising Japanese or Americans could outdo them, but only a French mind (Quebecois to be exact**) could come up with such genius..
**at least I think so. I'm not sure, since the film had so many different "labels". I saw the BBC was involved somehow, I saw some Canadian film organization's logo, and I think I saw some French ones. Yes, I realize Quebecois are not French, please don't point it put to me. Though as far as I know, the whole thing was masterminded in France, by Frenchmen, so thats why I give them credit.

one of the best movies I've ever seen, and not a single person finds it fit to comment.
Honestly, I can't be the only one who liked it.

Haven't even heard of it till you started spouting off about it, how about a little info?

I loved The Triplets of Bellville. And you're right, the French are masters of innovative artistic presentation. Amelie is possibly my favorite movie of all time.
I was so mad when that spectacular jazz number from The Triplets lost the Oscar to that horribly dull song from Lord of the Rings.
