so what did you think of it?
i myself liked that shield thingie :D and transporter closets energy drain thingie seemed odd
-
I do think it was funny that the transporting/elevator things were being used as cargo holds :)
...and McKay (that's his name right?) is great: "By us I mean you, since I'm going to be dead in a few hours..."
-
damn. I missed both ep 2 and 3? Pooh.
-
ep 1 and 2 aired in a row :)
-
They didn't air episode 3 did they?
-
Ep 3 sucked arse. Especially when compared to Ep 3 of SG-1. Both almost the same subject but SG-1 was SO much better. For Atlantis it was just a 'filler' epsode. Nothing more.
The only good thing was the shield thingy :D "Push me." *THUMP*
-
I liked..........
-
ep 3 rocked .... it was everything youd expect from stargate
"oh this wasnt the first test ...."
"i Shot him *grins* ... WHAAAT it was in the leg *rolls eyes*"
-
Aye, the whole shield deal was neat. :D
And the transport closets...although that begs the question, what did the Ancients use for closets then? Considering their wardrobe, it seems like they'd need a pretty big one. :p
The big dark thingy was a neat baddy, though I thought the solution was too similar, well, the whole plotline too similar to SG1. Instead of a dark force possessing people, we have a dark force possessing power generators :p
I sort of wish they'd mixed up the roles a bit more, it seems like a copy of SG1, except McKay taking Sam's role and Weir taking Daniel's. But you've got the same insubordinate leader and the outsider/warrior. Although, granted, Teyla seems to have more experience than him.
-
No idea how this episode is yet...but I got the chance to see the Season Opener...its AWESOME! I can't wait for more!
-
erm the black blob was an energy entity while the other black blob (sg1) was anaubis (i knew that as soon as i saw the whole junk to shuttle thing) :)
-
Right...although I didn't get why Anubis didn't just take control of Jack right away. And for an invisible, disembodied spirit that could move around the base at will, he seemed pretty impatient and careless.
-
Wasn't invisible. They could see the black shroud.
Anyway, we now have an Anubis popsicle :p

Where'd he go after he left the person, while he was in the gateroom then? :p
Granted, they might not've had the special effects budget to keep him there (which would've been absolutely hilarious, Anubis' head floating in the control room. )
What I would've liked to see would be Anubis' spirit coming for the guy in the International Space Station...that could've been a creepy scene. Nothing like a disembodied, black spirit materializing from the middle of outer space and taking possession of a person to get the goosebumps forming.

IIRC he went through the wall. Anyway, they did see him because you could see the others follow Anubis with their eyes.
-
Hmm, I missed that...but if he could go through walls, surely he could've hidden in one?

Why do you think they locked down THE ENTIRE BASE? They couldn't find him because he was hiding.
Besides, if he couldn't pass through matter they could've just shot him :p
-
shot him with what? an ancied super uber brainpower gun? .... wait they dont have those yet

:wtf: You sarcasm is truly... pathatic.
If Anubis without forcefield would be corporeal they could've shot him like any other Goa'uld. But the whole point is that he ISN'T corporeal and thus CANNOT be shot.
hell, if he were corporeal this whole episode wouldn't have happened.. No, he wouldn't even be in the series because he would actually be dead instead of being semi-ascended.
-
Right, so why didn't he hide in the floor or something until right before someone was going to go in the gate, or wait until the hysteria over the Russian guy had died down?
I was sort of surprised they didn't try to zat him, or bring out the TERs, actually. Then again that probably would've been as effective as calling Miss Cleo and conducting a seance. :p
-
I begin to wonder: If Anubis is mostly energy, why won't a Zat(or some other energy weapon) disrupt him?

You know the Goa'Uld, they don't think. They just do whatever comes to mind. Fits perfectly with his profile.

I was happily sattisfied with both episodes. :D
-
The atlantis episode was, well, meh. A lot of things still feel cheesy. The only thing that made that episode enjoyable was McKay and that other military guy (The one who can use ancient technology properly, I forget his name). The other characters did not feel like they had anything going for them.

You're thinking of Major Sheppard.
Honestly, I think McKay is going to be the highlight of this show. :) I was rolling when he fell from the upper deck. :D
