Why? External is slower and costs more.

Yeah, but he probably doesn't have room in his case. At any rate, you can probably get an external Firewire case and dremmel out the front if you're that desperate.
-
Haha, I'm actually buying something similar to that tommorow.
I'm however buying it from http://www.microstore.se/VisaProdukt.asp?ProduktID=2056&GruppID=89 since I'm in Sweden and NewEgg don't ship over here.

Given the fact it's a DVD burner, you might as well pull out at least 1 drive, if not all the other drives you have. For example, if you had a CD-RW drive and a DVD-ROM drive and bought a DVD-RW drive, why bother keeping the CD-RW drive?
-
Well, in the case of my having a DVD±RW, CD-RW, and DVD-ROM, I just swapped the CD burner out for the DVD writer. I'd use the burner for (obviously) burning stuff onto disc, but generic disk reading and movie playing I'd use the ROM to avoid drive wear on the burner.

I've actually got a CDR/CDRW/DVD+-R/DVD+-RW writer but only used the DVD burning feature 'cause it's pretty slow. So I don't really get what everyone's excited about...or is it because you can (insert-euphemism-for-burning-movies-from-Kazaa-here)?
Edit: It burns DVDs at 4x, IIRC.

So you can install FS2 without swapping disks?

I have that drive. Got it locally for around $130 (incl. 17% tax). Haven't burned anything with it yet, tho. :p
