Welll, my first SDF-1 had some geometry errors I couldn't find, so I set down and made a NEW ONE. The second one is more accurate and I even used the polygons more effectivly.

Long stroy...it's in the show.
The carriers got accidently teleported into space and since they were full of figters, people and materials, they just attached them to the space fortress....
Plus, they make good arms!

Ech, the movie version with ARMDs looks so much better. But this is still awesome. If you can get the Macross to transform, that would be the coolest thing in the universe.

Dimensions is one thing that varries from pic to pic.
I have several blueprints of the SDF-1 and it's really hard to make the darn thing!
The second version allso chraches... Works like acharm in FRED tough...
Could it be the textures? Or is my FS2 totaly screwed up?...

Added more detail to the ship and gave it a basic textue job..
3860 polys so far... carriers have about 700 each
Maby I should give it a bit darker blue texture?

Actually, I'm doing this one for StarDragon...
Textures are the biggest problem. I found a dark blue one that would work, but I really need something good for that white section...
And SDF-1 has a lot of multi-part turrets, so there might be a problem there. For now, I'll do only the biggest ones and put a score of simple normal turrets.

so Macross' arms are aircraft carrirers ? I never knew that. (i've only ever read about the early stuff, and only seen Macross Plus)

Charsh, charsh crash...
Ugh.. I have 4 version of the SDF-1 and all keep chrashing (By me, the improved Deimos allso chrashed, so I really don't know if the ship itself is wrong)
I'm gonna put all 4 pof's for download and someone please test them....

Well, the Prometheus is. The Daedalus is supposed to be an "Assault Landing Vessel".
Tiara: Both the Prometheus and Daedalus were built using alien technology (same as the Macross), so it's not that weird.

Well...here are the 5 pof's (2meg's) and the textures I used(90kb).
My FS2 is really acting up, so I think it's best from the to re-insall it and remove all the files (I have dozens of media VP's from different projects I worked on and evem more exe's:D)
One minute the SDF-1 works, the next it chrashes...wierd...

Well FRED is ddefinately to blame
All versions show up nicely in the techroom but missions chrash (won't load, load then chrash, or similar)
It's definately the FRED...
B.t.w. - the SDF1NEW is the latest version (in the zip).. It has turrets and is textured...do someone tell me if it works for him..

:) the SDF1 version with the turrets worked well in the new SCP build :nod: though you have to add subsystems like engines, comms, weapons etc on the model it's self first. created a simple mission with fred2_open ( not quite sure what version :wtf: ) not the version that came with SCP 3.6 for sure. SDF1 versus 2 Sathanas. Anyway nice model man hope to see more updates from u cheers.

OK, now to clear up some things.
Trashman, excellent work! That first SDF-1 model had missing triangles all over it and locked up SCP FS2.
I wanted to try your other pof.s but swooh is down last few days for that file???? Personally I would recommend using different servers for your photo postings (I use Upload it, Starblvd (but it's gotten busy lately), photoviillage (I think) and photobucket, and last but NOT least YAHOO!!! ) as for file hosting, I have had no luck finding a free service with any kind of reliability and good limits. If anyone can recommend a decent site LET US KNOW!
One thing I wanted to ask you Trash is in looing up modern fighters (though in size wise the veritechs ARE close to the f-14/f-15 range) I suggest making them no more than 15m long. (if possible) this will help a little with the size issue.

The Prometheus and Deadelus look awesome! The Prometheus textures need a little refining, though I think the Dead is spot on!
FOR NEW PEEPS:
This is a two pronged project. First is the continuation (enhancement) of the original Robotech FS2 mod. The second goal is to expand the legacy of Robotech and make Robotech II R.E.F. (The Robotech Expeditionary Force). One day I need to Track down Ancient Angel and wrestle the SDF-3 out of him (as he granted it's use when he gets around to making it like last year!)
Hopefully Trash will finish his masterpiece soon :D I intend on making mass sacrifices to the Robotech Gods to have Trash work on Angel's models next and the other 2 invid ones so we can make some teaser in game action screens of stable ships. Angel donated several REF ships but they have poly limits, intersecting, and other issues to iron out but look awesome and certainly should be useable.
One last thing. I managed to get FS open to work on my system!

That's all I wanted to know...now I'll finish up that version and make a scond one with carriers and put them for download once I'm done...
Say, I set the Main Gun to be 2 invisible boxes inside the front part.. It doesn't show up on the model, does it?
