I usually play in 640x480.
800x600 is great, but everything is mis-aligned and some stuff just plain comes out funny.
1024x768 is horrible - Unlike 800x600 and 640x480, the text is shrunk and I have to squint to see what they say on this monitor!
1280x1024 - Eyes went on strike :D
-
1280x1024x32, baby! FSOpen! (Okay, so it's a little slower...)
-
I wish I could play in higher resolutions, I know my machine can handle it. If only things wouldn't get misaligned...and the lead reticle goes in funny dirrections. ::Sighs::
-
Use 1280x1024 for taking screenshots (disable the hud first) and I play in 1024x768.
-
I play in 1024x768x32
I would use the higher one, but it's a pain in the ass for a 128 Mb system and a Duron 600. My vid card is the oly thing keeping this going (9600xt 256 Mb)

ive been playing at 1024x768x32. i didnt know it could go higher :D
-
1024x768x32 i can easily play in 1280x1024 but I don't want

On a similar note, I discovered recently that my Freespace: The Great War actually has better graphics without hardware acceleration. With 3D acceleration the textures get horribly blurry. Does anyone else have this issue?
-
That means you didn't use the registry tweaks that enable the D3D hi-res textures =/
-
1024x768x32 for the comics (recently moved onto 1024x1024)
640x480 for gameplay though.
-
1024x768, but I'd play in 1280x1024 if the HUD didn't get misaligned. I can't stand anything lower than 1024x768 in Freespace, as the HUD clutters up the screen on lower resses.
-
I prefer 640*480AA to 1024*768. :)
-
1024*768*32bit. Works just fine. 640*480 kinda feels like stone age. ;)

Check the technical section of my FAQ for the registry hacks.
Back when FS1 was created textures bigger than 256x256 could cause problems for some cards. This is not such a problem now :D
You don't need them for FS2 because the FS2_Open launcher can put them in for you (The use large textures tickbox)

1024x768 for everything :D
-
I'm stuck on step #1.
Where do you go to Start-> Run?
-
the launcher, video tab
-
Nope. I was actually refering to your Windows Start Bar :D
You should have a run option at the bottom that allows you to type in a command.
-
Oh, I was wondering what he was talking about... :p
-
I did it. Works beautifully. Merci beaucoup!
