Look at this page (http://dynamic4.gamespy.com/~freespace/fsdoc/index.php/Freespace3) as an example.
At the bottom, various people have kept note what they changed/edited. While this isn't a bad thing, there's a dedicated "Summary" field for that very purpose in the "Edit Page (http://dynamic4.gamespy.com/~freespace/fsdoc/index.php/Freespace3?action=edit)" form.
You can then see the summary of the changes in the Page History (http://dynamic4.gamespy.com/~freespace/fsdoc/index.php/Freespace3?action=PageHistory) for any given entry.
So please, use the Summary field. And think of the kittens. Thank you for your time.

I'd like to sign up to be FSDoc contributor...
I have a great wealth of info on the FS universe and have exceptional grammar and spelling.
I know I haven't contributed much to the community SCP or modelwise, but this is something I can actually do.
-
You don't have to sign up...
anybody can do it, IIRC
-
Yeah, but indirectly.
-
What do you mean indirectly. I've put some stuff in there, and have never signed up anywhere. The only condition is that your name has to be a WikiWord.
-
Erm, Sandwich, this is why I asked for "talk" pages like on wikipedia. Easier for discussion.

Lonestar's now the Man With the Wiki Plan - I've directed his attention to this thread.
What is a "talk" page?
-
I've put quite a lot of stuff up there and never figured out what the summary field was for. Thanks, Sandwich :)

What is a "talk" page?
Every page has one, it's basicly just a page with the name of the page it belongs to and Talk: prefixec. It's meant as a discussion area, and a place to log all your actions. Example:
Page Command line reference:
blalbbla
page Talk: Command Line Reference:
added blalbbla remark, this should be re-formatted and checked for spelling -- Kasperl.
You get the idea.

Erm... I'd have to see it in action somewhere. Is it an automatically-generated mod/page/whatever?

Ahh, ok. I get it. Like a forum thread for each news post. ;)
I think that's a MediaWiki-only feature - or, at least, it's not in the phpWiki AFAIK.
