Some have suggested that the timing of the latest US government warning is designed to knock presidential challenger John Kerry off the front pages after his nomination as the Democratic Party's candidate last week

Strangely, that's exactly what I thought when it was on the news yesterday..... who actually oversees the people that make these warnings, anyways?  i.e. whose job is it to make sure it's legit?

Homeland Security I would imagine. Meh, I wouldn't be surprised, nor would I be outraged. Kerry would do the same thing if given half a chance.
