I've decided to add to my CD collection, which I don't have very many of, and buy some more. Could you guys give me a few hints on to which CD's are good, and which are bad?

What kind of music do you like? No point in suggesting you go out and buy a Metallica CD if you're into country. And so forth....
-
[color=66ff00]Too true and I especially adovcate 'sampling' a few tracks before buying anything.
Oh except for Doom 3, Just buy that. :D
I have been listening to a rather great CD called 0 (zero) by a guy called Damien Rice.

Clutch - Pure Rock Fury
Scisssorfight - New Hampshire

Oh yeah, I like rock, how stupid can I be. I did get the AC/DC cd, and let me say it rocks.
-
Slipknot
Rammstein
-
I rather like Franz Ferdinand's selftitled debut album. It's not hard rock, but it's pretty good. it reminds me of the band Cake, but Scottish.
BTW, Cake - Fashion Nugget
David Bowie's Reality album sounds a lot better than his previous album Heathen.
www.djkristoff.com has some good free DJ Mixes online, techno music.
-
uh, the Living End, whatever their newest CD is. Oh and, you absolutely can't miss The Empire Strikes First by Bad Religion.
-
get yourself a copy of death cult armageddon, by dimmu borgir (http://www.dimmu-borgir.com/)! :D
-
Anything by TOOL, and A Perfect Circle. Two of the best bands ever, if not the best bands ever, right there.
I also suggest:
The Foo Fighters
Queens of the Stoneage
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Seether
Nine Inch Nails
Melissa Auf Du Maur (sp?)
Slipknot
Orgy
Hatebreed
Metallica
Bush
Greenday
Megadeath
Slayer
Pantera
HIM
Super Joint Ritual
American Head Charge
System of a Down
Beck
Ginger Jake
Blur....
That should keep you buys a while.
EDIT: I also forgot my friend ComradeF. He does techno, but it's still some really good ****. Goto www.comradef.com for all the info, and some good downloads.

Audio cd's? What are those? :p
-
Flogging Molly as mentioned above is good, think Irish folk + beer + electric guitars + beer + whiskey + drums + beer + beer.
If you like Flogging Molly, try Dropkick Murphy's too.

www.rageofachilles.com
Get the Manitou album, and the Fall Of The Leafe album. Excellent Finnish metal. EVERYONE GET THESE! They're outstanding.
Also:
The Datsuns (hard rock)
Supersuckers (hard rock)
Iron Maiden (metal)
Nightwish (metal)
Audioslave (hard rock)
Rage Against The Machine (political rap-rock)
Stravinsky (awesome classical noise)
Dragonforce (ridiculously fast melodic metal with daft singing and solos)
(early) Pantera (metal)
The Obsessed (sort of stoner/doom metal fronted by Wino - everything he's done is great)
Kyuss (QOTSA blokes' earlier band)
FAITH NO MORE!!!!!! (amazingly good rock)
Arch Enemy (death metal)
Anything by AC/DC from the 70s (their 80's and later stuff ain't so hot), particularly Highway to Hell and Back in Black
the Probot album (Dave Grohl's tribute to 80's underground metal)
Spirit Caravan (groovy doom riffage from Wino)
That's a good start for ya! ;)

Any of the hotel costes series, or anything by Stephane Pompougnac.
Or, alternatively, anthing from the Gotan Project.
