Title: How many of you guys play Eve?
Post by: Killfrenzy on August 04, 2004, 09:49:12 am
I just fired it up yesterday with PCFormat's (UK) 10 day trial, and I must say that I'm hooked! I particularly love how I can actually do other things whilst it's running - like my coursework - without any major loss in performance! :D

So, I was just wondering how many of the HLP denizens played it regularly - it would be nice to meet some of you online. As long as you don't laugh at my character or my crappy ship! :D

Well, if you're really interested, there's a total headcount of 2 so far on sectorgame that play Eve :p  I used to, till I got completely bored. (Which was before my trial ended... I had already gotten a battle cruiser :p )

Oh... then yes. It can run on my machine... Now if some 'Axinator' could put it up online I'd go for it.

Still, it's VERY addictive! :D It looks pretty too. I'm still undecided as to whether or not to go for a full paid subscription once the trial is over......

I played in beta testing, got boring. Getting anywhere was dull, mining was dull, it was buggy and shopping got nasty. I might try that trial thing eventually to see if its improved.

Never trust system requirements they can be misleading I should know since I tried running the game on my PC and it wouldn't run. 330 megabytes SDRam, AMD K6 3DNow! 450 mhz (what a long crummy name) and a Radeon 9000. I need a new motherboard......

I intend to play EvE when my new computer gets here.

If it's not here today, I will be hunting you all down in the EvE universe the second I get a half-decent ship and taking out my frustration on you with my superior weapons.

Unless I'm missing something I think they've changed that. I just installed the client and the only 2 options for account creation are paying 19.95 euros or using a cd-key from a retail/promotional copy...
