DXDiag says that I have serveral Direct X files missing
Several files (Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3D.dll, Microsoft.DirectX.DirectDraw.dll, Microsoft.DirectX.DirectInput.dll, etc.) are missing!
:doubt:
Strange thing is that all my games seem to run fine I don't know whats going on here......
Could it be the new version of Direct X 9.0c ? :nervous:
-
Oh, direct X :blah:
I saw X files and thought that... er... just download it from Microsoft's site or something
-
I'm running DX9.0c, no problems like that,
-
I have something odd like that too... I ignored it... since everything else ran... But I may fix it with a new DX install later..
-
How can it say that all those critical files are missing and yet still work just fine?
-
It's a feature.

And oh what a feature it is :p
I think the version of DXDiag is messed up or something, what really ticks me off is that Direct X never had an uninstall feature on it.
Oh look a feature Microsoft missed......
Hmmmmm this word is probably going to following me all day..... :doubt:

I feel pride in that.
Anyway, it doesn't have an uninstall because even way back when, they knew dx was going to be an integral part of the windows Shell one day (i.e. longhorn)

Yes but it would have been nice that way if any of your files got corrupted you could uninstall everything and do a fresh install which would be nice....

There is a gizmo out there to uninstall DX... but have you tried just reinstalling over the top of your current install?

Yes I've tried that numerous times and DXDiag still yet refuses to acknowlege the files.
