Title: can i install fs2 anywhere?

i ain't played this game in a few years but i remember having problems uninstalling it because apparently it doesn't like being installed into a directory with spaces in the path.
in fact in the end i had to just delete the directory and then clean the registry out.

just wondering if anyone had developed a fix for this problem in the intervening years?

I know I haven't heard of it (I've been absent, though). Just keep it installed in the default directory on C: and there won't be any problem at all.

I doubt anyone has fixed it cause no one in the community wants you uninstalling FS2 :D

Install it in a path without spaces, cause if you want to use the "-mod" tag for the SCP, it doesn't like it if the directory has a space.

Welcome to the forums.  And no, we haven't developed a fix to my knowledge.  Just use an _ (underscore) if you have to.

*glares at the loonies waving torches around*

i guess i can live with just sticking it in c.
i just prefer keeping my drive as organised as possible and games have their own special folder

I've got fs2 installed in G:\games\Freespace2, G:\games\Freespace 2\, G:\Crimson Tide\, among others...I've got to track down and delete all these multiple installations someday (remnants of the days before "-mod").

EDIT: Never had problems either.
