Here's the Kilrathi capship you've all learned to hate in WC3, as dangerous as the original and much more deadly looking:
One of the new warships introduced after the Battle of Earth in 2669, the Kamrani-class corvette became a force to be respected. It is a nasty little vessel that's far more dangerous then its predecessor, the Kamekh-class. Its turrets insured any fighter craft challenging it damage, and its heavy armor and shielding are proof against even the savage onslaught of the Confederation Thunderbolt VII. Its anti-ship missiles combined with its high speed makes this ship the #1 choice for attacking our convoys or conducting punitive raids. This corvette is an able capship killer, and, when used in conjunction with other larger ships, are capable of destroying whole battle groups. A hunting pack of five Kamrari-class corvettes recently destroyed the heavy cruiser TCS Crecy.

Good work in Kamrani she looks beaty :)
-
It's a very simple model.
-
Sure its simple...simple deadly ^_^

I think what he means is...it's a gigantic killer battleship...but it's still about 6 or 7 blocks stuck together.
Come on, I know the importance of sticking to canon, but that doesn't mean you can't add details and bumps and stuff like that.
-
Gigantic battleship?!:p
I don't know, is 100m gigantic for you?
-
I think you should see that this ships isn't that big...look at the windows. Its a small corvette for a very limited crew.
-
This thing's the rough equivalent of a Fenris or an Aelous in size. No flak, and no AAA beams, but dangerous without them. That tachyon cannon's the basic WC equivalent to a Kayser, and the lasers don't really help the situation much.
Remember, WC ships go corvette > frigate > destroyer > light cruiser > heavy cruiser > carrier > dreadnaught (most common is the Confederation-class.
Not that corvettes aren't a pain to take out at times...
-
No, Fenris and Aeolus class are much bigger, >200m. This ship is only 110m long.
-
Ah. Damn, that thing's smaller than I thought.
And it's a bigger pain in the butt than a Fenris, IMO. Those tachyon bolts are a real pain in the butt.

It looks great! Just right!
Sticking to canon is important I think, but they have added plenty of details. The Kilrathi design style for WC3/WC4/WCP was essentially a very blocky industrial design anyways, so the low poly nature wasn't all that off...in many ways they look crude and it fits the culture and design ethic perfectly. The WC Saga guys have done a great job taking that and making it look good with more powerful technology!
These corvettes were deadly...especially in a Arrow....any approach, especially from behind, was a serious problem. I know one time I killed one with a third of my forward armor and no shielding and I survived only by wiping it out with a massive missile barrage.
-
What are you calling a 'Zero'? I can't remember hearing that description of any of teh WC ships before.
Impressive kill, btw.
-
Hah! Been playing IL2 Forgotten Battles too long...Arrow...I meant Arrow...(analogy between the Arrow and Zero could be made).
-
Actually I thought that they were more dangerous if you were flying something heavy like a Thunderbolt or Hellcat than an Arrow, since the Arrow was so fast that you had less chance of being hit in it when taking on a corvette, plus it could auto-slide. I kept afterburnin to it from the sides, going to inertial and firing everything I had on that beast while darting past. After several strafing runs like this the corvette was finished in most cases.
-
Well problem with the Arrow is when it gets hit you have quite some holes in your armor/shield...but you are right the Arrow is a good fighter against the Corvettes...as long as you take it from the front or do it like I mostly do...takeing out the underside turrets then you can hang their till the ship goes boom.
