Sentry gun this time. Since we're in the era of HTL, I tried to put a few extra polies in, I think I might put more details around the solar panel areas. Of course, nobody is reading this. Nobody reads anything in the first post if it has pictures. I like cheese.
Pictures:

The pictures are a little shoddy. I might put new ones in if anyone cares.
The geometry is still missing some fighterbeam turrets, but that's about it.

Nice. :yes2:
What's it armed with? It looks a little too bulky to be a light sentry gun like the alastor, IMO.
-
it's probably going to have two lgreens and probably about 7 fighterbeams (I think it was 7...)
And light sentry guns were the reason I made this.
For some reason they just tick me off. They don't do crap. And mjolners are next to useless as well. So I invented a solution. Yey me.
-
Dimensions? Looks pretty. Produce it, and we can through it in aotd.
-
Someone should make an anti-fighter sentry with a combined missile and gun pack. That might cause some distress to pilots.
-
Nice work Anaz
-
Me likes!
Though I might rotate the fins 90 degrees, they're restricting the field of fire on the turrets.
-
How do you know the turrets aren't restricting the field of view of the wings? :p

With that kind of armament, surely you'd possibly be better off making it some kind of light combat station rather than a sentry gun. You might need to bulk it up a little to give people places to live, but that's stronger armament than your average cruiser, and I doubt that it could be maintained without a crew.

Looks good.
I like cheese too :D

Sweet, good work :)

I was thinking about that...one of the reasons I gave it a separate "reactor" area from the turrets, rather than lumping it all together, like the mjolner. If I make it about 1/2 the size of the fenris, then they might all be able to squeeze together in the "gun doughnut" around the turret mounts and stuff.
On the solar panels: Yup. I'll try putting 'em at 45 degrees and 60, and see what you chaps think.
After looking over the armament, it is a bit rediculously overpowered in the fighter department, I might cut it down to about 3 fighterbeams, and put some more "traditional" terran armament on it.
I would upload some pictures for you guys, but someone appears to be uploading something massive onto penguinbomb, and it is quite full atm.

how about adding some kind of control tower ?
-
very nice design/model, but it seem a bit overdetailed. Also, the panels will cut the field of fire (which could be cool if you want it to have a blind spot)

Overdetailed? Heh. First time anyone has said that about my models.
Yes, the blind spot is intentional. I hope that the SCP shoot-through-hull fix is still in effect, otherwise it'll look awfully funny.
At least the blind spot is less than the mjolners ;)
Some pics I took a few days ago, but couldn't upload 'cause someone was filling another part of the HD penguinbomb shares with crap. I tried the panels at 60 degrees, and they looked like crap. So they're at 45 degrees now, and look pretty good.

I liked more the precedent orientation of the panels:)
btw, what's the trianglecount/size?

it'd probably be about 1/2 the size of the fenris along the TS x-axis. The triangle count is 1479 without the fighterbeams yet.
Some of the geometry has questionable stability, so that number might go up

When I said rotate the panels I meant so the thin part faces the main body of the station. Still looks like a million bucks though!

that'd be messy...I'd have to re-build the majority of the power section, and I don't think it'd look quite as cool ;)
-
Indeed. Verticle dealies give it personality.

The sentry guns in Starforce are like that. When several of them get a bead on you, you're in TROUBLE.

keep your mods in your own threads, WW...

You could split the power section in two and relocate the halves to either side of the main section, so that the panels are edge-on to the turret.

Your modelling skills fly as mine is trying to take off.

I'm glad somebody thinks so ;)
Sandwich: I might try that, would certainly look interesting...would still require major geometry h4><0ring...
