This is my first 100% done ship. Took me bloody ages as I've had to learn pretty much everything (other than basic modeling) as I've gone. Still needs work to be honest (uv tidying and Lod01 is pretty shocking) but I'm sick of the damn thing now.
Thanks to PSYCHO and Getter Robo G for the texture borrowage, though they haven't ssen it yet so they may be regretting it !
Thanks also to everyone who've answered my never ending pleas for help.
-
looks pretty good, needs detail tho
and... Consternation? :wtf:
-
Better than constipation, no?
-
couldn't constipation lead to consternation?
-
hope you guys aren't gonna turn my big release thread into a bloody spam fest.:blah:
-
My eyes, they bleed! (In triumph insult dog voice)
I KEED I KEED!
Seriously though it does look cute (It's got a Nike feel to it to me)
Where is that light texture at? All I see is 100% Armor (though tactically that is the coolest thing since Voyager endgame)...
One MINOR criticism, I know the green beam is a big weapon, but it's charging glow drowns out your model.. how about reducing the size fo the ball by HALF!!! The beam itself is fine... I think it would look cooler that way...
-
I like that a lot dude, wanna lemme use it........:p
-
Looks really nice, but for it to really be a Terran it needs more multi-part turrets, at least one more on top in the forward section and on the bottom, in back by the engines.
-
Needs lights, and a little bit more detail, but for a first working model it's certainly a valiant try.
-
It looks like the child of the GTCv Phobos and EAC Aesacus from the Inferno campaign.
-
I like the design. The textures could use a little work, and four BFGreens (or whatever those are) seem to be a bit much.
-
What are it's armaments?
-
Hey, I really like that design. Very slick texture job too, exceptional for your first total project. Well done.:yes:
-
me too I like the overall shape of the ship . Sleek and beautiful. Better textures are needed though :)
-

that's where you're texture went Getter R G. Just what I was lookin for.
And yeah, they are BGreens, but they're just place holders for testin' purposes. I might bung it on the Hades Cimbine.
-
Reminds me of bastard child of Deimos and Hecate. I'd hit it.
-
I like it:nod:  It realy need better texstures ( this ship need light one)
-
It's just hard to see at an angle sometimes... Your bridge area is not very pronunced, though tactically it is a sound thing... I didn't realise at firtst the rear top protrusion was a rotating radar (cool) BUT I thought it was part of the flying bridge.. hehe A little more work on textures and this thing ROCKS!!! (meaning more interesting, fake some details)
or better yet refine the turrets, drab guns on a cool ship downgrades it...
-
Nice to see all my advice on converting finally paid off :)
Definately not bad for a first attempt at all :)
-
heh, you got that right kara.
I don't wanna spend any more time on this ship though. Sick of the sight of the damn thing. Plus I've got somethin' pretty cool/mental in the works. Maybe I'll come back to it later.
-
Good work megatsu
-
Nice.
-
Congratulations! :) Trust me, they get easier from here on in, though, theres always surprises ;)
Great stuff, damn site better than the first ship I got working in-game (looks at Tyr - :nervous: ). Looks like a nice little powerhouse, stumpy, but stubborn :D
-
I think a lesser arnament and a tad smaller size would give it a real character.
When I looked at it, the term patrol-ship popped up.
A smaller economic ship, somewhere between a corvette and a cruiser.
Very good initial design, some further detailing wouldn't hurt though.
The bottom is a bit bare, and the engine section is way too blocky compared to the streamlined fuselage.
Excelent for starters.
-
Kewl. Nice work - makes me want to try to learn to model again.... :nervous:
-
wow, this thread has had a whole new lease of life. Maybe I should finish it after all
-
Thats a mighty ship. A variant you could make of it would be to chop off one os the side platoon thingys, and then rotate the ship so that it goes longways (ie rotate it 90 degrees, so the side that you choped off now faces up), and maybe add a new engine block. That way you could have to sisterships or sum fin
-
Nice
Looks Hydran, in plan view anyway.
-
I had to go back and look at it really hard imagining without textures.. Yeah it could look Hydran, but I think it's a streatch...
-
what's "Hydran" ?
-
They're a race from Starfleet Command
-
Awww, it's a cute little hecate baby!
-
Was this one ever released?
-
where did this come from ? :nervous:
will I release it ? um, dunno. Never really finished it.
-
Some threads just kind of "float" back to the surface.
This is an interesting model...consider submitting it to Hades Combine? Not bad...a heavily-armed (and armored) cruiser...I like.
*straps multiple rocks to thread
Die! :D
-
Well, considering it's a first success - the first of many I hope - it's not at all bad.
Believe it or not, I want it. :D I'd probably do some texture shuffling, armament change and turn it into a civilian vessel for my own nefarious purposes, but it's an interesting design......
-
Doing the texture job showed how un-brilliant the mesh was to be honest. Needs an overhaul really and I'd rather be doin' new stuff than rehases of old.:doubt:
-
Well..... tell ya what, I would like to finish then, if that is OK with you? :)
If so, please email this uber bad-b0y to [email protected]
I really like it, and I am of the opinion that we need MORE light cruisers and support vessels.
-
well, you asked fot it....
clicky (http://premium.uploadit.org/magatsu1/cruiserfinal.zip)
You got the table, .pof and .cob files and the textures supplied by PSYCHO and Getter R G. Everythin' a growin' boy needs.
Anyone who d/loads it, do whatever you like so long as I get credit for the original (for what it's worth).
-
Appreciate the mention BUT please don't. Credit Mr Lucas, I think that light came from a STOCK X-Wing alliance .tga/.bmp...
-
I said you supplied it, which is right.:p
